Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if any of you know whether Virgin plan on upgrading their Economy cabin any time soon?

I notice other airlines such as American have around 3-4" more legroom throughout economy now - is Virgin going to follow? I would love to be able to afford to fly in Premium Economy/Upper Class but at the moment I am an economy man!

I am 6ft 4in tall and last flew with Virgin in 2001 - I prefer them over British Airways. Although both have the same legroom in economy of 31" - I prefer Virgin's attitude.

Thanks,

Charles Mead

I don't have any inside knowledge, but I don't see VS changing any time soon. Adding more legroom to Economy would be an effective way of reducing Premium Economy sales. And of course, AA does not have a PE cabin so doesn't have this issue to worry about.

Personally, much as I love to fly Virgin, if I had to do it in Economy I'd be looking at AA instead if I were flying to the US. And I'm "only" 6'1".

Hi Charles and welcome aboard,

The VS fleet is going through a major refit at present, new UC Suite and selective upgrade to IFE (to V:Port) c/w new seats in W and Y, there are no plans at present to increase pitch in Y.

If you want more room you can either upgrade to PE (expensive) or arrive early for check-in and hope to 'buy' and exit seat, (£50/$75 per leg).
