Quick question, hopefully quick answer.

I'm on a VS45 out and VS2 back in a couple of weeks. Both A340-600s. I saw from another thread one V-flyer has just started that exact trip!

My question is this: Are the greyed-out seats on the seat selection map all actually taken seats?

For instance on the way out every A-seat bar one is taken, and 5 K seats remain. Only two Ds and one G are taken.

Do people prefer A? Its not like many are trying to sit opposite each other with only 3 D/G's gone.

VS2 on the way home looks dead quiet - 10 seats taken (although there's still time yet). No middle seats taken, but again why has someone selected 17K when 30 other seats are available?

My first time on Virgin in about 5 years. Excited...

Not all the greyed-out seats are taken. Some are not released until check-in opens and others can only be allocated at the airport - these are bulkheads and exit rows. The sleep zone areas on the east coast from America fights are often greyed out as some people may not realise they are snooze zone seats and may not want them.

With regard to As rather than Ds or Gs gone it is the perceived wisdom of this forum that in UC it is better for couples to be seating one behind the other that across from each other.

The other thing about As in other cabins that they are on the side of the doors and so it may be quicker getting off.
