Hi everbody..

I recently booked UC on the VS049 - LGW>>MCO 17th April.. Looks like we are the only ones booked in UC! I wondered if the rest of the plane was empty and likely that the flight will be merged with the other 2 flights that day?

Expert flyer is showing:

VS27 - J4 D3 R3 Z2 W7 S7 K7 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X7 N0

VS15 - J7 D6 R5 Z5 W7 S7 K7 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X7 N7

VS49 - J7 D7 R7 Z7 W7 S7 K7 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X7 N7

Looks like masses of free outbound capacity that day. Unfortunately there is no way to know if there will be any consolidation until either VS contact you or when you arrive at check-in. On the plus side, VS28, 16 & 50 are pretty much full due to end of Easter holidays so all aircraft may be needed out there.

I have just come back from Orlando when the plane was virtually empty (except for Upper[n]) but was needed to bring back a full load being the week after half term.

Given the 17th is the Friday after Easter, it is a fair bet that there will be lots of people to bring back[:D]

Hope it all works out for you

Our outbound to MCO ex MAN eas empty, with only 80 pax in total on board. The flight was still kept on though because the return flight was full so it made sense.

Your dates are around Easter so I would be very surprised if anything was cancelled/merged, even if the outbound is not busy, the date falls in perfectly with the end of the Easter break so I imagine the return would be busy!

Yeah I just attempted to book a return on VA.com from MCO-LGW on the 18th and no availability.. so I guess your all right.. wow might have UC cabin to ourselves... no reason to bump anyone up since Econ and PE are pretty empty too.

I signed up for a trial of expert flyer.. and I cant believe the info is accurate.. its only showing 9 occupied seats on the entire plane and the flight is just over 1 month away... can this be correct or am I missing something?

I am not sure exactly how accurate the seat maps are.
Is is showing straight 7s in availability?

I have read that VH pax aren't being allowed to request seats until 2 weeks before the flight, so maybe this is a factor?

Dont forget that not everyone selects their seats as soon as they book with VS.

As far as I'm aware all VH pax can select their seats as soon as they book, I know I could when I booked my package to SFO for New Year a few weeks ago. As soon as I'd booked online with VH, I could see my VS booking using the VS website.

Yes if it is showing 7s across the board, that is the max it shows. There might be as little as 7 seats available but it may also be an almost empty cabin. Some sites show 9 as the availability norm and others as little as 4 so that isn't always an accurate predictor

Not everyone is aware of the possibility of requesting seats and so the number of seats allocated is no indicator of how busy a flight is. I have often thought there has been a light load depending on seat allocations but once on board the cabin has been full.
