How do you get a seat on an inaugral flight? Or are these by invitation only?

I have always fancied an inaugral as it is very special and part of an airlines history. i woul greatly love to get a seat on thenew Havana route.

Is this possible for an ordinary passenger? Or am i wasting my breath?

Obviously its a bit of a showcase event, and lots of people are invited to join. Last year for Grenada and Tobago there was a cool competition for Golds to get on the flights and go to the parties.

But then I also got a separate mail from Virgin Holidays with details of the inaugral flights to Grenada and Tobago - looked like anyone could book! Think the seats went quick though!

Thanks,

Normally there aree '2' inaugral flights.

Ones for Press only and media and special guests and the second one for normal passengers

Ill say it again the first ones is for the pree, VIPS and special invites. Its a chance for RB and Virgin to show off the services and have a massive party at the new destination!!!

Then the second one is for passengers!!! First flight open to the general public!!!

I think that Anteo was making the point that there can only be a single real inaugral flight. You're correct and there being two flights, one for media nd one for passengers, but the first of the two is the true inaugral flight ;)

Sorry to be pedantic, but I thought the responce to Anteo's post was a bit sharp ;)

Semantics - such fun - I guess we're talking about the inaugural flight on a route? Is one made before the commercial flight to check logistics?

Surely it has to be the first pax flight, as they fly in before the press flight to check everything, so technically, the first time they fly in with or without anyone on board is the inaugural flight? :-)

Personally speaking, I wouldn't have taken it any other way than it was meant - was LMAO at it this morning, cos it's just the same sort of thing I'd say :D

Cheers
