FC Selection not working

Newbie and all that so please go gentle![:p]

I am flying on holiday with VHols on Thursday so it's only very last minute I found about about the Flying Club.(flying VS45 to JFK)

Anyway I have signed up my wife and myself, all is well and I have the temporary cards all printed off.

I have gone in and checked my flight and seat allocations which is all cool.

I have been in to edit the booking as there is a section that states "Flying Club" then asks for membership number. Well I have tried and tried to add it to the booking but it just won't have it, am I doing something wrong, or shall i just leave it and show my temp cards at Check-in???

Check-In at MCO...how early do you guys reckon to check-in to get Exit seats, as I hear they only allocated on a face to face situation. As we have really awfull seats on the return. (Flying MCO to LGW on VS16)

Secondly. Virgin have told me that VS45 LHR-JFK on thurs is a 747, though your site states it is always an Airbus!!! Now I'm confused

I flew on VS045 on the 6th April and it was a 74S, from what I can gather they changed over from the 343 at the end of March for the summer season.

Hi Matty

Regarding your Flying Club number - give VS a call (use your Flying Club call centre number) and they will be more than happy to add your Flying Club number to your booking. All you will need is your flight number, date of travel and your name.

Last time I flew back form MCO is was very busy so I suggest you check-in as early as you can. When you are on holiday give VS US a ring (it's a free phone number) and they will tell you what time check-in opens. I think it's about 4 Hrs B4 the flight.

VS want the NYC routes completely Upper Class suited ASAP as this route is a very important route for premium traffic, therfore the aircraft will be 74S (747 with Suites)or the new 34S (A340-600 with Suites)

I rang the Red Club and she sorted for me as you suggested.

Now then it looks as though tomorrows flight VS45 LHR to JFK is going to be a 74s so I take it I can get overly and childishly excited about it having V-Port?????:D Or shall I sit back down again [:(]

Well when they refit suites they don't necessarily refit IFE - we just came back from EWR on a 74S without v:port

My understanding is it's a compatibility thing. Odyssey is compatible with the Suites, so if the aircraft getting the refit has Odyssey, it keeps it, if it has anything else they'll do the upgrade to V:Port.

Virgin are still committed to upgrading the entire fleet to V:Port, but at £2m a pop, I'm assuming they're not wanting to take the hit all at once. It also seems to be quicker to do a Suite-refit on Odyssey, since they don't need to update the PE & Economy cabin with Wash and Kash seats.

On my recent trip to JFK we had G-VBIG ÔTinker BelleÕ (74S) on the outward trip which had V:Port:D.

We had G-VTOP ÔVirginia PlainÕ (74S) on the return leg but this had Odyssey[:(], which is good, but after V:Port nothing else will do!!!

Unfortunatelly I was in Y, so never got to see the suites either[:(]

check in at Downtown Disney, as I imagine they will be able to allocate the exit seats. if you wait till MCO tghey probably will have gone

At MCO the check in opens at 13:00 I think, I have been there many times waiting for it to open, no one else around until about 10mins before then they come out of the woodwork!! so stand in the queue as soon as the first ones turn up.

I went straight to the desk when it opens ask for PE (cash) upgrade, given a ridiculous price (always seems to be at MCO) asked for row 25 H&J (exit row), given those immediately, walk off happy for lunch at the hyatt!!

Do you mean "rediculous" as in $100 or as $400 as it can be rediculous in conatations [8D]

I flew MCO to LGW on VS16 last Sunday and got to the airport for check-in at 5 pm for 8.25pm flight. I was asked if I wanted our family of 5 to consider staying an extra night in Orlando as they were looking for up to 10 'bumps'. I volunteered, but for another reason they did not want to take my offer up. I then checked in as normal and was given 2 exit row seats (row 38A and B)without me asking for them.

Conclusions - (1) it would seem that exit row seats are not allocated at Downtown Disney (2) there is some discretion for check-in staff to allocate exit row seats. Assumption - this is the case for an oversold flight.

I mean't as in $400+ (for PE) per person. On a number of occasions there were no PE seats left anyway, always busy on that route.

As far as I am aware they cannot or will not allocate exit row at Disney check-in. Maybe someone from VS can confirm this?

In terms of allocating exit row seats, they will not just give them out to anyone. They know that some people request them and that some tall flyers may come along later and be in need of the extra room, however when it gets near to close, they will allocate them as needed to fill the flight. They can only be allocated to over 16's who are physically fit and able and willing to help in an emergency.

On a couple of occasions, all the exit rows seats on the flight were blocked off as broken, and the gate agent called ops and checked if they could be allocated. The ops people said yes and I got my exit seats, but on the flight most of the other exit seats were empty?
