Or missing something.

As you may have read, I have booked some of the BC recomended;) BA First Flights, but it means I need to start in lisbon.

In my never swerving geekness, I think I have just found another good loop hole....... unless I am stupid or have missed something.

With the flights starting in LIS you need to get there first, But if you buy a cheapy econ ticket to reach the start point you get little if any miles and waste half a ticket.

I have just reserved a D class, flexi buisness with BD for about 50% more than they were quoting an econ, and as it is flexy it seems I can get a refund on the unused portion which them makes it the same price as the economy but I earn Tier Points and Double Miles..... can it get any better or am I misssing something silly.

Need to confirm the flight by Monday so any insights appreciated?

Thanks

Should work - I once worked with someone who used to claim (before things were tightened up) to book under two names - both believable because of his name configuration, one econ one first. He'd get both sets of boarding passes mailed to him, board using econ then flash the first pass and go to his 1st seat. Upon arrival back in the US he'd cash in the first portion of the tickets he'd kept.

Of course he could have been telling porkies BUT I can't see why you can't cash in the return ticket - you're paying more for the flexibility just so you CAN get refunds. What does the small print say?

That is the point - no real small print, the ony restriction is that ticket has a life of only 6months, instead of the usualy 12, is what the Diamond Club Helper said when I called to query

So you intend to not use the last portion of the First ticket from LHR-LIS? Will BA be fussed about this? Will you have to ensure they don't check your bags through when you check-in for the return?

May i ask what your ultimate destination is for this flight, as i can't see it mentioned in either thread?

Thanks.

Final destination is SFO

No issue on the luggage as I will only have carry on, but yes i do not intend to use the last part of the ticket, (I just get of at LHR) but I will then also not use the return part of the flight to Lisbon, which is the part I will request a refund for.

Thx

Yep, have to agree, this plan seems pretty faultless; and i particularly like the mileage earning potential here!
