Looks like I was wrong.
I ordered from retail therapy via mail order and was surprised they had not given me any miles.
So i sent a copy of the invoice to missing miles.
I have recived this e:mail back:-

Hi Alan

Thank you for a copy of your order form asking us to credit miles to your flying club account for the recent purchase of the Concorde model.

Unfortunately this was purchased through our Mail Order service and does not qualifyt for miles to your account .

Any queries please feel free to contact us

Thank you

Alan

That's correct - it's only pre-order RT purchases (over £20) that earn miles at the rate of 10 per £1 spent.

BTW, point to note for pre-ordering.....if you pre-order £10 worth of RT for the outbound leg, and £30 on the return leg, you'd only get 300 miles added because they're treated as separate orders even if you pay for them at the same time. This also applies if you order £10 of RT for one leg of your trip and then ring up and order another £30 worth to be delivered on the same flight.

I find these things out the hard way *sigh*

Cheers

Michael

I don't know why, but I never expected FC points for my concorde, I suppose I just assumed it was for duty free items purchased on board.

I have always found it very hit and miss with preorder miles getting to my account . I always forget to take a copy of the order and the paper work is taken off you on the flight in exchange for the order. Then its a nightmare trying to get them credited.

BTW, don't forget that miles for qualifying pre-orders only credit in the month after the flight that you pick the goods up on [V]

they are posted retrospectively to your account but in date order so if you have had a few flights they don't show up online unless you search back a page or 2.I have though in the past I have not been credited miles when this has happened[:o)]
