I'd like to add another vote for nose-cams and cockpit radio; they make life more pleasant for those stuck in the middle of the plane with nothing to look at.

Flew on United in EconomyPlus last week. It was much more comfortable (36" pitch I think) than basic economy, but it would decimate PE sales I think so probably shouldn't be brought to VS.

I think the other area for improvement could be Silver FC benefits - they seem quite weak at the moment. Maybe add 2 free clubhouse entry vouchers, plus access to the same paid clubhouse allocation as VS Holidays. Since it is free to join FC, I would recommend against opening paid access to red FC members, however Silvers have shown loyalty to VS and should be rewarded.

Maybe the coffee compromise should be filter coffee in PE ;)

I'm with Nick

Paid access to the lounges (on a par with VH customers).

This seems reasonable to me. It might even inspire some silver holders to 'go for gold'.

Gold card = free access
Silver card = paid access
Red card = wishful thinking and a desire to fly more:D

BAcon Butties are there for you to eat when you want using the freedom menu!!!

SO that means if its on the menu u can it WHAT YOU WANT WHEN YOU WANT!!!

I think PE is fine, Its soo popular that why a couple of years ago 5 rows of economy seats were removed and replaced with PE seats on the main deck of a LHR400.

When LGW 400 get suites an extra 20 PE seats are being added because ther demand is already there!

I beg to differ. It's okay, and better than down the back. Not great, and certainly not worth what VS charge for it at full W.

Like I said, if I can't stretch to UC/PE, and don't/can't upgrade, it's unlikely VS gets my business in Y unless they want do something to recognise their Ag/Au members (even down in riff-raff) and reward their loyalty.

Cheers,
Mike

I would like to see some changes made to Premium Economy:-

1) Have a separate toilet for W class on the A340-300
2) Bring back menus
3) All drinks served in glass glasses rather than plastic
4) Laptop power available on all aircraft

:)

My vote would be for getting rid of Virgin Cola and replacing it with something more palatable. Also, dedicatged loos for PE would be great, I've really appreciated it when on the upper deck.

I always hesitate to ruin decent alcohol by subjecting it to a poor mixer. In the case of 'indecent' alcohol though, could be a case of two wrongs making a right

It's also the only fizzy caffeine available on Virgin Trains. I always have to remember to stock-up on some drinkable stuff befor making the long trek between home and my family in the north.

I agree with Mike's point that AG get little out of VS when travelling in Y. Perhaps the better seats in Y could be held back say up to 1 month before departure for AG (&AU) members?

Complimentary teddy bears in UC on night flights would also be an improvement.:D

cheers

I did a number of internal flights in the US recently, and when I pr-selected seats there were a number that were only available if you'd reached a certain level in their FF program(me). I think it'd be a great way to add a little extra benefit.

Toilet on A340-300, not sure where you put it!!

Maybe when the 300 get suites (next summer i hear) they could move PE forward to replace rows 7 and 8 and te toilet by R2 could be the PE toilet!

Menu, watch this space

Glasses used to be used but were cut as cost more money, ie the washing up and also a weight issue as plastic glasses are cheaper may sound silly but is true!!

LAptop power is slowly coming to PE on all aircraft once its there it will be another selling point for PE over BA WTP

I forgot about V-Trains!!
Not used them in years anyone care to comment on the new stock?

Talking of improvements:

I think the UC toilets could be improved as they are basically Y with a few extra Virgin Vie things thrown in.

I dont think AG card holders should have unlimited lounge access charged or otherwise (However maybe AG's could get a lounge voucher to inspire them to get to AU!)

Upper Class toilets used to have a full selection of toiletries and proper towels. Cost cutting I guess.

THe Virgin Pendolino trains are great in First Class (my only experience of them [}:)]) but last time I was 1.5 hours late and the Pendolino developed a fault and ended up tilting from side to side on a straight piece of track at one point. By and large Virgin Trains still seem to have a poor reputation.

I don't suppose its possible for the new A380's to have bigger bathrooms than current?
You have to be a contortionist to use them!

Hhhmmm, mike-smashing, he was probably shouting at me - since I also mentioned it... [:(]

Declan, Bacon Butties are NOT on the WESTBOUND TRANSATLANTIC flights (at least, not on any I have been on)! You can only order them off of the Freedom Menu if they are on there in the first place... ;)

Some of us have the opinion that they should be on ALL flights - Bacon Butties are one of those things that can be enjoyed any time of day or not.

Have you found a way of acquiring FF Miles (or dare I say tier points) with your purchases?
