I was wondering when VS Convert their B474 (LGW) what happens to the old seats and IFE?

I know Nova isn't great but its much better than no IFE system.

I was wondering if Nova is to be recycled on another carrier or just binned?

Good question.

Does Aliatalia have NOVA on their 777s maybe they will have some of the screens and stuff as replacements for broken ones on the 777s.

The question is could they afford the parts!

The Italian Govt would get VS to pay for it! :-)

Nova will be staying.

The system will be enchanced to offer games, more channels and in Y and PE the handsets are being modified so they can be removed from the seat and allow passengers to play games.

So Nova will be around for a while yet.

Then Oydessy based LHR400 will move to LGW to give all LGW aircraft games and wide selection of videos.

Which means all LHR744 will be V-Port.

Declan,
Thanks for that
I think it was the general understanding around here that VPORT was going to be fitted as part of the UCS upgrade.

I guess it seems we'll have to change the name of Nova to SuperNova!!

Does this also mean the PE and Economy will not get the new type of seats and the Nova screens will remain, even the charters are now offering 9-10" video screens, with First Choice going widescreen!! on their flights[V]

Was it VS who announced that LGW planes would get V:Port when fitted with UCS, or was it just an assumption. If it was VS, has this decision been made purely due to cost.

Strange but true..........

The Seats on the Upper deck will be staying, however the Upper class seats on the main deck (row 11 and 12) will be replaced with the New Kash style PE seats as on the A340-600!!

What?

So some people will have the Kash seats and some will have the old ones. The plane will look funny.
