earliest checkin

Hi,
Is there a limit on how long before a flight you can checkin? I'm flying UC on a 1600 flight & want to have plenty of time to lounge around so was thinking of checking in 11ish if that was allowed. I wouldn't want to be mistaken for that bloke that lives at heathrow tho'

IIRC, check-in at LHR is open from 0630hrs and isn't specific to a flight - so I guess 1100hrs should be fine (especially since you can do an online check-in up to 24hrs before the flight)

Hi Dave,

It shouldn't be a problem, 5 hours is perfectly acceptable, there is only one check-in for all VS flights and it is open well before 11:00

I've gone to LHR before work checked in @630am
Gone to work (all day)
left work @17:30
Got the 20:30 flight to New York!
that way you have no luggage @ rush hr!

so 11:am will be definately fine;)

I got to LGW when it opened and left 30mins before departure so about 3 hrs

I think LHR travelers have a better chance of winning this as LGW has no evening VS flights

has anyone stayed in the LHR lounge all day and got the 19:30 to NY?

On a complex trip to Australia I had the VS car pick me up from Stanstead (meeting a 1 euro 99 Ryanair Flight!) at 11.30am and take me to LHR for the 21.30 HKG flight

After a shave, two meals and reading every paper I could find I am ashamed to say I got Bored[:o)] I even *SHOCK* left the lounge to go shopping[:0]
