Hi There

Next year my parents are taking myself, my partner, my sister and her partner to the USA LHR>LAX SFO>LHR. Is there anyway that I could get the miles for the 6 of us, either through booking it, or tranfering miles? Even in Economy, this would be a helpful amount of miles.

I am new to flying club, my main reason for joining is to save enough miles to earn an upgrade to SYD in a few years - I have the credit card!!!! :D

You Can only earn points from your ticket for that ret flight you will earn 10800 miles/points.

I take it the credit card is a Virgin one if you have signd up for the double points then you earn a fair few miles if you book every ones flights.

The other way to earn easy miles is to get a texaco we o u card when you get 600 points you can transfer them for 1000 FC points. If you know some one who has a driving job give them your card and collect your recepts then you can put the points on to your we o u account.
Amate of mine works for the RAC and has my card with both our fuel i earn 1200 weou points 2000FC points every 6 weeks:D

Check out these link's they should help

I'd have thought you could pick up a few more miles by signing them all up for flying club (via the option on the website where you send them an e-invite) and picking up the bonus miles each time. I think you get 3k for their first economy return, so for 5 people that's a decent chunk of miles. Plus they all get to collect their own miles on the flight. If you go for PE its 7.5k bonus miles per signup making 37.5k for you! Not sure if there's a limit on how many friends you can sign up.

FYI, (after aardvarkdave touched on the subject :))

The referral website address is http://www.milesmorefriends.com, alternatively there's now a link on the VS website once you're signed into your FC account (here)

Maximum of 10 new members can be signed up, and bonus miles will only be credited on their first qualifying flight in the relevant booking class:
Economy = Y, B, L and M
PE = W, K, H and S
UC = J, D and Z

Some discounted booking classes, special offers and complimentary upgrades will not qualify for miles.

Referral bonus miles awarded as follows:
3k - Economy
7.5k - PE
15k - UC

Thanks for all your help guys. If I refer the 5 other people I'll be flying with, that's 15,000 points - not bad!

Just been thinking about the milemorefriends scheme. A friend of mine has just flown to the Far East on Virgin in Upper Class. Would it be too late to introduce her to the flying club and get 15,000 miles for doing it?

Although she can claim her miles retrospectively; to get milesmorefriends credit she has to fly after your referal[:(]

Shame as you missed out on a few miles there.

I registered my wife( 2 b) before I noticed the miles more friends link but have not yet travelled. Our flight next month is UC so 15000 miles would be a nice bonus. Does anybody have any advice on how to claim or should I just re register her under different FC name.
