Daily Mail report on IAD

It said that it was the worst airport for immigration both in and out.
Can anybody give an update who has been through it recently?

the daily mail should be entitiled the daily whinge, that's all it does.

I'd take pretty much everything they say with one big lump of salt.

i like the Mail, I like the truth it exposes as well and am very happy to say so.
Yopu may think its the " Daily whinge" but its a damn sight better than the Guardian with its constant lies dressed up as news, or the Mirro and itsa socialist nonses, or even the Sun witn its "We l;ick Blairs bum" attitude.

Still, it would be a boring life if we all had the same views wouldn't it.

How recent did you want? We came through it in June (in and out). It was about the worst of any US airport I can remember in the past couple of years. Queues long on the way in - say a 45-60 minute wait. Couldn't use INSPASS as was with Mrs D (in any case unsure as to whether still valid). On the way back we did a domestic transfer from MSY so no real problems. Lounge remains one of the nicer clubhouses.

Did I not see somwhere that they were going to increase security on INSPASS as well, to include fingerprinting and photos?

I could understand the extra security there as one of the airports for the nations capital, they are a little nervous of the city being hit.

Makes sense Alan! Must admit after all the effort of getting the INSPASS I hardly ever use it now as Mrs D is with me most of the time!

Last may- long wait on way in- only 1 international flight (our VS one) and still a 40min wait! Long lines made worse by getting that silly bus thing etc as every1 arrives at once! no point doing the usual bolt off the a/c

On departure, strict security but nothing too bad and no lines! All in all i would have said just ur usual american airport with regards to wait etc!

IAD is the worst for immigration by far!!!!

Normally when the VS flight lands so does a SAS flight and a UA flight at the same time, there are always very long snaking lands throughout the hall.

The Daily Mail is right!
