We are flying into LGW Upper Class, One of us on a Z ticket (No Limo) and the Other on a 80,000 Reward Miles Ticket. Would we be able to use 10,000 points to book a limo to take us home (10,000 miles) for the reward ticket holder and would the second Z class ticket holder be able to cadge a lift to, the limo would be going to the one address?

Secondly would the Limo go as far as Mid Bedfordshire from LGW?

Thanks for your advice guys

I have often thought about using FF points for limo transfer, but in my own circumstances (Central London) I usually consider it to be an inefficient use of miles: it's £50 each way for me in the same car that Virgin would provide, booking direct with Tristar (actually I get Amex to do it).

I save my FF points for free UC flights and purchase the limo with £'s.

Of course, in your circumstances 10,000 FF points to Beds it may be a bargain, but you might be pleasantly surprised if you call up Tristar direct.

Howard,
have you any idea of their tarrif?
I have looked at a local Taxi firm bringing us to and from from the midlands to LGW and the cheapest I can get is £250

Sorry I don't know their pricing criteria, but I'd guess that they'd struggle to beat that £250. From some different trips I've take with them I'd guess it's circa £3 per mile. About on a par with a Black cab, with the benefit that they meet and greet so there's no queueing for transport at the airport.

Slough Radio Cars usually charge us about £18 LHR -> Slough, Tristar in the same car Virgin use would be £30. Just to give an idea of costs.

I got a Tristar limo from Revivals back to Reading after my last return from SFO - IIRC, cost was in the region of £100 [:0]

Its was around £300 pounds last time we asked (to Mid Bedfordshire) so 10000 miles isnt to bad in our opinion, but still need to know if two people can ride as per the original question.

Thanks once again

Ouch - I wonder if they use different rates for some journeys... Here are some recent one way examples:

LHR to Chiswick £35 (10mi)
LHR to Knightsbridge £50 (15mi)
Knightsbridge to Bray £70 (28mi)

YES. I had flights in UC to MCO and spent 20,000 miles on home-LGW and LGW-home for me and family. I had 2 miles reward tkts and 1 child cheap tkt. The requirement is that you travel UC.

Biggest benefits - you save parking fees and on the way back after an almost sleepless 10 hour flight (please, please hurry up with the UCS to MCO), letting someone else drive is just perfect.
