Here's a conundrum for you all.

We are travelling on VS 31/32 and from St Lucia - out 25th March back on 1st April. The VS seat map is showing LGW 744 with no suites. I currently have 79A/C both ways.

However - on the seat map it is unusually showing seats in row 71 as being available. Now this is the bulkhead row.

On this site the seat map for LGW with suits shows that row 70 is the bulkhead row and not 71.

2 questions?

How do they fit an extra row into the hump on the LGW fitted with suits - its all PE up there so have the seats been moved? is the pitch altered or is it just a mistake on the saet map on this site?

Secondly - can anyone tell me for sure whether it will be a 744 with suits on this route at that time - I am unsure whether to move from 79 and into 71 as it may be that if it is the new suite fitted aircraft then row 71 will become the SECOND row of PE upstairs?

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the lavs will be removed from the upper deck on the LGW config in order to squeeze that extra row of PE in. The seatmap on this site is correct as of the last set of plans, but those may change right up until the point the first one rolls out of the hanger.

By March I would think you have a pretty good chance of Suites on the Gatwick route - but no one will be able to tell you 'for sure', since delays in fitting can (and do) occur, which might mean you get unlucky. The LGW re-fits will be more complicated than any of the others in the fleet, and they won't know of the problems until they start doing those aircraft.

Thanks for the info Pix.

Do you know why are LGW suite fits are more complicated?

With only 14 seats I'd have thought it would be quicker - unless the extra time is due to WC alterations on the upper deck - or perhaps IFE improvements?

There's extra W & Y seating to go in on both decks, and - as you say - that loo has to be removed on the upper deck. This is also without the complication of changing the IFE, which may also happen - and at the very least, an upgrade to the system controlling it if not full-blown V:Port.

Toilet is not being removed. some changes are taking place to the location of the crew seats which will make more space.
