Customer service in my opinion outweighs all other factors so its no use pinning the blame on management.

Surely cabin crew did not join VS to follow and remain loyal to management, they, one would hope, joined the airline because they enjoy the customer service aspect. Therefore, it's no use arguing that it's management's crap brand/product decisions that allow crew to perform to less than their best.

45.

Your right 45 but good leadership is a positive factor in breeding team work, stability and loyalty to the business. I'm not suggesting that the current situation is all the fault of management, you only have to look at pprune etc. to see that. What I am saying is that as a customer I don't feel I am being treated very well by VS Customer Service dept. and my on board experiences have been very inconsistent over the last couple of years.

If I feel like this it's not surprising if staff feel undervalued as well. These are things that should be addressed and management have to take the lead to address them since that's part of their role.

Personally VS now have 3 opportunities to win my future business:

1. Sort my APD vouchers refund out which I've been waiting 7 weeks for them to do despite chasing.

2. Provide a good experience to Kingston in February

3. Provide a good experience from Kingston in February

If this doesn't happen I'm going to cash in my miles and go to BA.

I must say, there are some very well put together posts in that thread. Some people are in check with reality, not all but a refreshing number. Seems to contrast a bit with cc.com where I have to wade through the text speak.

Lol one of my comments has been cut n pasted on Prune.

The truth is we would rather NOT complain about VS, when we do its because we feel we have been slapped in the face with our own loyalty.

I've noticed the moderation on PPRuNe is pretty good - TightSlot, in particular, is quick to remove inflammatory or poorly thought out material, which keeps the majority of it in check.

To be honest, reading the threads on PPrune and CC is a bit like watching a car crash. You know you shouldn't but sometimes you just cant help it.

Reading some of the posts makes me wonder what will happen when it's all over. The vast majority will still have to work with each other.

I've spent a few moments reading through PPrune and CC, and it's pretty frightening. I only hope that the lack of intelligence, the bitterness and the dull-headedness there is unrepresentative of the true nature of most crew. If it *is* representative then, as has been said above, I don't think I'll be able to look them in the eye on my next flight without thinking horrible thoughts about what is (or, more likely, isn't) going on in their heads.

It is unrepresentative of most crew that I know. Most crew that I know love Virgin, their Pax and their job. They just want to be able to progress financially in a career structure that doesn't force them to leave after 10+ years of service because they're getting no long term service increments and thus are paid the same as newbies. This doesn't strike me as particularly unreasonable. The whole situation is a lot more complicated than it needs to be. Shame there's not two unions, one for CSS/FSM and one for FAs.
