Premium reward upgrade

How do I go about using this? Just spotted it on t'other half's statement. Is it a case of aclling and having to buy a qualifying flight? This is for just one flgiht, right? So I'd have to do some jiggery-pokery and buy another PE flight for me at the same time????

I guess you mean an Amex reward PE upgrade voucher? If so, then you need to call FC and use some miles to buy an Economy reward fare and then you can use your PE upgrade voucher to upgrade it to PE. There needs to be both U & T fares available to do this also.

You are also correct that the voucher just upgrade 1 economy reward booking.

My understanding ws that there only had to be U availability. FC will then create the T ticket, to upgrade. That's how they explained it to me anyway.

I hope that is the case because when I want to use them there isn't any T's showing at the moment. However FC told me only last night there had to be T availability initially and then also U availability to use the vouchers.

Hopefully Richard will be along soon to clarify.

I have used mine on a flight with no T availability, most recently in the first week of Jan I booked a U ticket when no T was showing.

In my understanding, there would only need to be U availability as the T's would be returned back anyway as you wouldn't be sat in Economy. Methinks you may have got through to a ''less informed agent'.

Remember though that you cannot pair the companion and upgrade rewards when it comes to using the upgrade vouchers anymore. So you would need to redeem 2 lots of Economy mileage and apply your PE upgrade vocuhers.

We have managed to use our vouchers in this way.The agent had to check with a supervisor but I got 4 U's when there were no T's
