Just flew back from Sydney (UCS) and noticed that on the passenger manifest taped to the side of the galley, my 'status' was listed (hand-written) as 'DF' - does anyone know what this means? 'Disgruntled Flyer', 'Dodgy Family' etc etc??? So what does DF mean???

Thanks.

DF = Duty Free, at least that's what the majority of us would write down.

That makes sense; I'd been asked if I wanted any duty free and had said yes - I wanted a bottle of sapphire gin. Subsequently the cc concerned returned to tell me they'd just sold the last one to somebody else; bit of shame as was an Au travelling in UCS and thought it might have counted for something?

Sorry it's first come first serve with duty free although the crew endeavour to do Upper Class orders first. Good luck with the jet lag [:(]

Slightly OT - but I'd love to know the reason why you can't pre-order duty free on any of the VS200/201 sectors [?]

The reason for it is due to the length of time the aircraft is away from base. Most Pre-orders are done with 96 hours between O/B & I/B sectors. It's just logistically impossible to do it, as each aircraft on the HKG/SYD is away from base for 4 days, so adding in the 96 hours, there would be a minimum of nearly 10 days for a pre-order and also space for a pre-order cart can be used for something else on this route.
