As far as i can tell, only V-SUN has the V-port system, out of all the 343's that VS operate....

Yes, the other 343's all have Odyssey.

See here for details of the IFE on the Virgin fleet.

Still, I have faith that VS will provide us with anonther type of aircraft on this particular flight ;-)

Not that the 343 is a very bad aircraft, but the IFE does matter, especially when travelling with kids, and as of this exact day, every 343 that VS operates has been active for more than 10 years, whilst the 346's are at least 4 years younger.

What difference does it make that the a/c have been flying for over 10 years? That is still young in terms of an a/c life and the LHR 744's are over 10 years old too! As an a/c the 343 is actually very good, and not bad at all. Interior wise is it the same as all the other LHR a/c apart from the IFE.

And the Odyseey IFE is still a good IFE system. We had Nova on our last flight and I was surprised at how I didn't miss V-Port and the ability to start/stop when we wanted at all. The ONLY down side is a smaller choice but as NYC is only a short flight I am sure some of the choice will appeal.

Apologies for coming out so negative about the 343, but from my limited experience the comfort of an a/c will drop as the years go by and as the wear and tear sets in, of course depending on the maintenance and so on.

And regarding the V-port vs Odyssey I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Have been traveling quite a bit with the SIA's 777, and maybe getting a little spoiled as to being able to pick what and when you would like to watch. But as you so correctly say, this is a relatively short flight, and the importance of such things lower[:)]

Less than a week now[:D]

Is there any listing of what is showing on the Odyssey system? I can only find the whole listing for the V-port?

No, VS do not publish a list for Odyseey/Nova, it will just be a certain selection from the V-Port offerings.

Your best bet of knowing is if any other V-Flyers have flown on a Odysse IFE a/c during June who might be able to tell you. I think James (Vegascrazy) had it on his flight back from BOS but not sure if he used it much/at all (I *think* they used the bar instead[:D]).

Well G-VSUN has reappeared on the database, looks like she continues to be dedicated to NBO

Edit: BTW looking at the recent history of VS09 it looks like a pot luck route anyway!

I guess you will have no other option than to take what you are offered [;)]

From the 'which aircraft'-section, I read that last week (week 24), VS 9 has been serviced by all three a/c, 744, 346 and 343. This must be some of the exitement of flying with VS on these routes, never knowing for sure which a/c you will be on[:D]

Well, VS 9 turned out to be a 343, as expected. Not refitted, so seats a bit worn and old IFE, but ok flight anyways.

VS 10 (080708)was Tubular Belle,744, refitted with V-Port and new seats, nice surprise. Had it not been for a silly guy managing to loose his passport while boarding, causing the plane to push-back late enough that we missed our slot, taxied for nearly two hours on the ground, and missed our connecting flight home.....Had to wait an xtra 8 hours at Heathrow......

I flew G-VSEA on the 4th July from LHR to Mauritius and it had V-Port installed, still show's on VF's database that it has Odyssey.

G-VSEA with V-Port? I thought only G-VSUN was the only 343 fitted with V-Port. On the 4th July, LHR-LGW stats are showing G-VSEA as operating the NBO flight [:?]
