How long should I give it before sending off all my boarding cards etc to claim missing miles, with US and BMI.. They say can take 6 weeks? is this the norm? basically whats the point of adding your card details to all these bookings with 'partners' if you end up sending all the original stuff anyhow..?

BMI never have been the quickest of partners to credit VS miles. America West (now US) where just as slow too.

It got the point where I was posting every BMI boarding card stub as they never credited my account. I now only use my DC account for BMI flights.

I'd leave it 4 weeks then post everything to FC.

Thanks, Not a bad idea, as for the sake of the few gained through FC,
worthy of keeping DC mileage accruing.

One thing I noticed with bmi is that their online booking management website is shockingly bad. Once you make a change it becomes impossible to save down your FC number in the correct field, despite me setting it in the original booking screen.
The way to resolve this was I asked at the business lounge desk and they confirmed that there was no FF info attached. They put my FC details in and hey presto, the miles were delivered. That's the only time in the past year that I haven't had to resort to claiming missing miles.

Slightly veering off, i have earned about 5000 miles with Hilton over the last year and not seen any added to my FC account.

Yep, happened to me on a recent BMI DUB flight.

It's one surefire way of training your frequent fliers off using the OLCI facility!

Given that I've got *A Au, it doesn't really matter, because checking in at a machine or desk doesn't make that much difference to me.

One of the issues BMI seem to have is that they use the Lufthansa IT platform for this stuff, so they are stuck with underlying assumptions in that platform - as decent as it is - and are basically bolting stuff onto the top of the LH platform.

(The LH platform used to be dreadful for self-service and online check-ins, it wouldn't let you select or change seat allocations! It's rather better now.)

Given the above, and the assumption my FC account and associate miles are sat in never-never land on a computer somewhere. I assume I'll be able to approach DC diret to claim instead?

If you have already added your FC details and then try and do a claim for DC instead they may not be best pleased.

Don't start me off on this one. I'm having exactly the same problem with Hilton/Flying Club.
I stayed at the Hilton Islington in May and earned 1,000 normal miles + 2,000 bonus miles. Indeed my Hilton HHonors statement looks just like the one above.
I also converted 10,000 HHonors points to 1500 flying club miles the following week. Neither have appeared in my account and after doing a missing miles claim through Virgin I was told they knew nothing about it despite sending them the hotel invoice and my Hhonors statement. I have spoken to Hilton who have assured me they have been processed.
I also have no less than 5 emails (dated Feb-May)from Dollar rental car from my trip to SFO in November confirming the transfer of 1,000 miles to my Flying Club account. Again Virgin are telling me they know nothing of this and basically it's not there problem.

So that's 5,500 miles that I am owed [:(!]
