I'm a little confused [:I]

The virgin website says you can earn points staying at Radisson SAS hotels, and indeed this is confirmed on the Radisson SAS website.

However, when searching for hotels in California, it directs you to Radisson hotels web site (with no "SAS"), and VS are not shown as an airline partner on this site!

Does anyone know if you can earn points at Radisson hotels in the USA?

Thanks folks :)

Hi Richard28,

I do not think you can earn miles at Radisson Hotels in the US , only under the Radisson SAS brand( Uk,Europe and Asia I think).

As to the distinction, I do not know?

I got caught with this - at a Radisson SAS in Liverpool. Tried to use my US Radisson card to get my free Internet access. No deal - separate companies as TBS points out.

REALLY bad branding.

REALLY bad branding.

Radisson is owned by US-based Carlson, Radisson SAS by Rezidor SAS. The Radisson name is from the US company -- Rezidor incorporated it as part of a brand franchise deal in 1994 when they rebranded the SAS International chain.

Just to confuse matters even further, Rezidor now has the rights to develop the Regent, Country Inn and Park Inn brands in Europe as well.

Have the same issue with Hilton - have recently become a shareholder, and looking for a room for a forthcoming trip to NYC thought I'd check out the discount - but turns out it applies to everywhere except the USA :(

thanks for the info everyone - I agree this is a confusing brand issue, especially when your browser gets diverted automatically between the two sites.

Sadly it seems I'll be earning a few less miles than I expected in my forthcoming trip [:(]
