VS in talks with LH about the future of BMI......

Breaking news from Sky / BBC - reporting that discussions underway on the future of BMI.

Sounds an interesting development & a merger of the 2 UK airlines would really hit BA's dominance of LHR !!

This is being reported over on a.net. It is an interesting, even if somewhat predictable, development.

Of course the link serves both carriers well. Looking at VS from an unbiased point of view, have probably missed the boat in the last couple of years with regards to airline partnerships etc. VS always beleived it didn't need to be in an alliance and could rely on the O&D from LHR/LGW. Post Open Skies, this seems not to be the case, and a link up with LH/BD will provide a much needed feeder network.

LH are of course looking to bring BD back into profit, and getting VS onboard will help to do this.

Will be very interesting to see if this signals, dare I say it, the entry of VS into *a.
