I rung them up and moaned about not being "targetted" and told em I was an Intercontinental Platinum card holder and "may" switch my allegiance (a wee white lie!) if they gave me a gold card. No joy but they did say that as a goodwill gesture I would receive 2500 bonus points on my next visit (which I did a couple of weeks ago). Only prob is that despite the bill showing my FC number the 1000 miles STILL ain't showed up!!

Recently stayed at the Conrad Centennial Singapore after taking up this FC/HHonors offer. I have had 2000 FC miles sent to my FC account and I received 1000 extra HHonor points.

Let us know how you get on Jules - I've found the upgrades few and far between and you seem to explicitly have to request them.

No upgrade, even when requested. I appreciate that the hotel was pretty full though.

In fact, as my first stay at a Hilton, I wasn't too impressed either.

Only hotel in the world I have been in witout tea/coffee making facilities (I was told to go to the cafe 25 floors below me or order from room service), with holes in the sheets, where I had to request a bath robe, where the heating didn't heat the room (even after supposedly being fixed), where I get telephoned at 10pm by reception complaining the noise of the wind against my open window was disturbing my neighbour (my room didn't even had a window that could open), where the M&Ms are electronicaly tagged (and don't give me bull about it being for my convenience), and where their idea of "compensation" was deducting US$5.95 of my total bill of around US$1400 etc etc

And bonus points for not taking breakfast as a gold card holder were not applied either.

Grr. I shall be writing to them!
