FC discount on VH

I'm a new FC member (red).

A couple of questions.

Do I get a discount on already discounted virgin holidays or does the 10% discount only apply to full brochure price?.

Do I have to book direct with VH or can I book through my local travel agent?.

Tim, for VH discounts bookings must be made direct with VH and then your discount will be taken from the brochure price.

I'm not sure if the discount works the same as the Virgin Holiday Frequent Flyer, but if it does then the 10% is for the total amount of the booking, including car hire insurance and upgrades and all other supplements.

You would never see these kinds of discount being given by a travel agent as their discounts are only from the base rate of you holiday.

Just one more, would the discount be available to megadeals?.

These could be holidays available in a brochure, but already discounted from main brochure prices.

Yes indeed the FC 10% discount applies to the total cost of a VH booking (as the the FVC 10% discount) but cannot be used on Megadeals or combined with any other discount.

You tend to get a better deal with the FVC discount as you also get the free card upgrade in FL and quite often get room upgrades too at most VH destinations

I booked a megadeal to Mammoth Mountain last week, and got my 10% off the price and the car upgrade.

I pointed out that the website was offering its usual 5% online discount off the base adult price, so surely the FVC discount applied to. Sure did, the young lady did ask if I worked in the travel industry though for some reason...

Travelling on Saturday with VH on my third megadeal within the last two years.

Have always been given the FVC 10% discount - never even had to press the point with them. I wouldn't have thought that this discount would apply to FC but never needed to ask.

Well unfortunately, due to work commitments, I am going to have to wait until Feb now to sit my VA-1 Fares and Ticketing exam

You don't even have to book a whole holiday to get the 10% discount. In the past I have booked just the hotel accommodation with VH (when I had my own VA tickets) and there was no problem in getting the 10% off the brochure price.
