I spoke of this a bit in another thread...

There are a few shows here in the US and the UK. AIRPORT and AIRLINE.

We have Airline here on the A&E Channel, and I have seen AIRPORT occasionally on the BBC.

Regardless, I am amazed at the behavor of people flying. How rude, and downright child-like they can become.

Now I have flown quite a bit recently, and I do not think I can recall seeing anyone behave in such a manner. I did see two gentlemen get in a heated political argument while in the security line at LHR, but beyond that, nothing as bad as what is shown on these shows.

You folks obviously fly much more than I. Have you ever seen anything close to what is depicted on these shows? On US domestic flights they have little tolerance for disruptive outbursts, especially once in the air. How does this compare to UK regulations? How does VS deal with unrully passengers?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark I travel a lot out of LHR both transatlantic and to our office in BRU. No week goes by without me being in an airport somewhere.

However, I've never seen anything like they show with either Southwest or EasyJet on either of these shows (yes I too watch A&E when in the US, but then again we also get your show here on ITV2 if anyone is interested!!).

What I'm assuming is that the cameras are at the airport for around 12hrs a day for a couple of weeks and probably film loads of things which are obviously edited leaving the few heated passengers for viewing by the general public.

Thats my opinion on this one anyway:D

Sorry, in case of any confusion US show Airline is Southwest and UK Airline obviously EasyJet, whereas Airport is LHR.

Although I have seen Airport in AMS which is filmed at...of course, Schipol.

I enjoy watching Airport on BBC1, in fact spent last week in bed with flu watching Airport weekend on UKTV people[:I] Any ideas if there will ever me a new series??

However I cannot bear to watch the likes of Airline to watch people embarassing themselves just because they are in front of a camera. I hope people realise what prats they make of themselves.

The way people moan at the Easyjat staff on Airline about flights being delayed, crap compensation etc.

I would thell them sorry, but you get what you pay for.
Annoying people do make better tv though.

The best EasyJet moment was two guys turning up for the wrong flight - a day late - because they booked the wrong one. Spent an hour shouting at them because it was clearly their fault (well according to them). They spent soo long arguing they missed the flight that EasyJet would have transferred them onto for a £30 (i think) admin fee they refused to pay. In the end they gave in and made a new booking - so the guy paid with his Centurion card!!

Foz :o)

I don't so much mind EZ for domestic flights, but I wouldn't get them for longer than an hour's flight or so! Gotta say that sometimes I scream with laughter at the TV when UK Airline's on - "What do you mean you close check-in before the plane leaves and advertise the time that it closes? [:0] The plane's still here, I can catch it - you have no paperwork to do, just let me on and get me through security quickly!" - ROTFLMFAO! :D

Cheers

See this is why I think that LCC's are great. I dont understand why people insist on flying BA purely for the pleasure of a sandwich and a cup of tea- in my view it has to be the most expensive sandwich and cup of tea in the world! LCC's serve a purpose that is to get us to a city for little amount of money and they did it well. There is no point in expecting VS/BA service because u wont get it.To be quite honest I think for european flights there is no point forking out for a BA flight when EZY do it for much less and quite often its easier to get to LTN than LGW/LHR.

They have filled a hole in the market well done!
