From the Virgin Wines website "We deliver anywhere in the UK, including NI, Highlands & Islands, and the Scilly Isles, for £4.99"

Sorry no delivery to the US [:0]

Small correction, you earn 750 miles per order, not per case [:(]

Don't want to start a new thread for this, so I'll jump in here.....

Are any of the wines Virgin do any good? Considering buying a case of possibly white wine, but not exactly clued up on what's what in the wine world.

They are usually happy to help you select something if you are unsure of what to buy. If you have a budget, choose a mixed case so that you try a few different grape varieties from different regions, then if you find one that you like you can order some more (assuming it is still available).

You can browse the website by price and category and then select whatever you think you may like, you can mix and match or select one of the cases that they prepare from time to time.

Short answer - yes! Some of their wines are absolutely fantastic, though it may take some doing to find the ones you particularly like (and don't forget there's a money back guarantee if you don't like a wine). On the red wine front, I am in love with the Penfolds Private Bin Ruby Shiraz Cabernet - £6.99 per bottle (IIRC), tremendous stuff!

Cheers

Just to clarify Ð you get 1,000 miles for your first order, and 750 for each subsequent order placed.

I've had two cases of wine from Virgin, and I have to say they're pretty good [y] Plus, even if you take into account the £5 shipping charge, the bottles are cheap as chips!

So how long do they generally take to ship cases, and do you get a dispatch email? Always a useful thing that quite a few companies don't bother with for some reason.

From what I'm reading in this thread, you can create your own cases then rather than go with the pre-selected ones?

The last case I ordered arrived two days after I placed the order! :D
You can, indeed, mix your own cases. That's what I did Ð I found that the pre-mixed cases all seem to contain at least a few bottles of rubbish, plus I like to try wines I'm unfamiliar with. It's a great idea, because you can get your money back on any wines you dislike for any reason whatsoever ;)

I might be wrong, but I don't recall receiving any emails...

Only a couple of working days usually - you get an "order details" email and can track your order online (I also tend to get a "your wine is on its way" email a couple of days after it arrives :D)

Absolutely - any combination you want from those available on the site (either order 12 with VW's choice of 13th bottle, or 13 of your own choice).

Cheers

My case of wine just arrived.........nice to see my father's eyes light up at the sight of all the alcohol ;)

Getting a Virgin CC too so that I can gain those extra few miles I need for whatever in the future. Always handy for booking flights too, although the limit won't quite stretch to top Z fares of over £4k.

Hi

Has anyone else had problems recently getting their points from virgin wines?

I have never had a problem in the past but the last couple of orders on both my account (and on Mrs. DD's account) have failed to generate points[:#]

Claiming them manually is a real pain, having to look up the order, print the missing miles form on VS and then posting it[:0] ( or am I missing a trick somewhere[:?] - the reply to my email to V Wines told me to print off the claim form)

Thanks

Nope. No problems here - usually credited between 1 & 14 days after delivery.

thanks for the quick reply.

Must just be a coincidence then.......Oh well I feel another test is required ( more wine and hopefully more miles[y])

Thanks again

It doesn't look like they will do that anymore. Their reply to my email states :

Thank you for contacting Virgin Wines.

We cannot service your Flying Club account. You need to log into your Virgin Atlantic account at http://www.virginatlantic.com and you can fill in a missing miles form.

If you have any further questions or comments then please do not hesitate to contact me personally and I will do everything I can to help you.

Oh Well

hi dylan
just noted that your last couple of purchases from virgin wines have not generated any miles .
i was wondering are you in the virgin wine bank club ?.
the reason i ask is that i joined the wine bank ordered a case of wine and got no air miles ,when i checked the terms and conditions i was confronted with this...
12.11 Customers with a VAA Flying Club number registered on their account will not receive any air miles for orders bought partially or completely using Wine Bank, and the collection of monthly payments will also not generate air-miles.

...maybe this might be of some help to other forum members in case they are thinking of joining the wine bank.
i suppose you have to way up the pros and cons of an extra £20.00 in your account every 3 months or missing out on air miles
all the best folks Andy

Hi Dylan,

Let me know if you are still having problems and I shall PM you a couple of contact details at Virgin Wines. When I have dealt directly with individuals there I have had this resolved (and recently!).

Thanks for the reply's

Andy - Yes I am a recent member of the winebank. That will teach me to read the small print more carefully[:I]`

An email is now on the way to Virgin wines cancelling my winebank. I complained when I couldn't buy any of the wine on sale with the winebank, but when they stop giving airmiles !![V]

Still doesn't explain my wife not receiving miles on her account as she is not in the winebank, but that could be a one off.[?]

Graham - Thanks for the offer. I've already sent the claim for off for my wifes missing miles. If I get no joy I will take you up on your offer[y]

Thanks
