First Flight on Virgin Upper Class

I have a Kensington adaptor which has a three pin uk on one end and a airplane plug the other, perfect for anything, I lent mine to a young guy who had an applemac bt not the right lead on my last flight.

There is a nak to making the most of it too. When they announce the boarding of your flight, avoid the urge to dash to the gate. Relax, order a drink. When the second call is made, you should be half way through it. When the final call is made, this is your cue to leave and head to the gate.


7hrs? Managed about 10 on the way to SYD [:D]].The drink in question is a Mojito -a bit of a v-flyer tradition as it happens.[;)]. As Mr Wheeler has stated, there is no rush to leave. Relax and enjoy.[:)]

Sorry can't do the cut n paste thing but it was one of these on the same site you pasted.
I just plug my normal plug in one end and the other goes in the seat.

So is the plug in the seat a two holed plug or a one-holed cigarette lighter type one?

I assume the cigarette lighter part detaches to reveal the empower port?

I believe that's the tip you need, yes. At one stage Virgin Atlantic sold them on-board too, but I cannot seem to find them in the pre-order catalogue.

I'll have to see what Duty-Free brings on my way to Africa this year... because if they sell one, I'll buy one, and make a c/crew member happy with some extra commission in the process.

HE HE I love arriving early at the CH, I managed 8 hours in the CH before my flight home to SYD. It is a great way to spend a few hours, eating, being pampered, drinking of course! [y]

Wow 8 hours [:0] Thats as long as my flight! I dont think I have the nerves to wait until the final call. I've booked my seat (4K) to/from LHR/JFK for the end of March. I'll look forward to see if anybody from here is on the flight [:)]

I was going to say, make sure you join the Flying Club, and get that added to the booking.

Then when you log in to Flying Club on the Virgin Website, it will find the flights linked to your card number. Even if you booked with a travel agent.

Do any of the UC seats have a good window view?

That's the odd thing about UCS. Due the way the seats face, looking out of the window is a real pain in the neck, literally. They face away at about 60 degrees so you have to really crane your neck to see out.

Do the seats have the window in different positions? In some pics the window looks like it is behind and in some it looks slightly in front.

Yes - because the seat pitch doesn't exactly match the window pitch, there's some variety.

As a result, some have 1.5, others have 2 windows. Some in front, some behind. You WILL however, definitely end up with a whole window to yourself at least (plus at least a little bit of another [;)])

You can check-in at at 7am as that's when the CH opens it's door.

[:0] They have changed my outbound flight to a 747! Changed my seat on the seat plan and now I have 18A. Is this a good seat? Is there a lot of difference between a 747 and a A340 in terms of space and V-Port?

18A isn't a bad seat but I am unsure what is there now instead of the IFBT station. You may be looking at a wall which separated the station from that side of the cabin.

In terms of space, I find the 747 much better than the A346. There is no difference in V-Port

18A is a good seat if you are travelling alone [y] 19A better!

There was a plan to replace the IFBT station with a changing room - not sure if this has been completed on the 747s.

The suites on a 747 are known to be wider that the 346, so you should be more comfortable.
