Just a quick note about my flight, the VS09 on Friday 6th.

I can't be bothered to right a whole trip report but I do feel I need to comment on the crew, which from the FSM, to the CSS right down to the girls at the back were excellent.

They did everything right. The FSM went round everyone in Upper (admittedly there wern't many of us) and chatted to all and welcomed back all the Golds. He even welcomed one Japanese passenger with a small amount of the language he knew then got a japanese member of crew to come down and welcome him personally.

It was a ridiculously long flight to NY due to a particulary nasty jet stream so I killed quite a bit of time chatting at the bar. The CSS spent plenty of time to chat to all us PAX and always had a different member of crew look after us if she needed to attend to something. Even though it was a empty flight, I never got the feel there was much galley gossip going on.

I was always referred to as Mr Morris by the FSM, and he came back at the end of the flight and thanked me personally with a handshake for the usual selection of cabin crew cards I had given to his team.

big excitement. Just really professional and polite crew, which quite frankly is all I want.

Well done VS!

This is great to hear, and brings back memories of a flight JNB-LHR I had a couple of years ago - this FSM's name didn't begin with 'N' did it? Only this experience sounds very very similar to my own - excellent FSM who really led from the front, and an brilliant rest of team also.

Thanks,

David.

Excellent, really pleased you had a great crew, makes the flight so much more enjoyable.

We had the same on our outbound, FSM spoke to everyone by name, the CSS was superb as were the whole CC. Our inbound was slightly different, great CSS and CC, but the FSM never came in the Upper cabin at all, not that it affected us, just a bit strange.

Your account makes me too recall a certain FSM who has a name beginning with 'N'[;)]

It just goes to show that when the right calibre of FSM is on board then everything follows suit - if you ask me, this is the way for VS to retain loyalty

Have to 100% agree with buns!

And of course the most important bit about this, now more then ever, is this costs nothing. Maybe a small amount in training time for FSM / CSS but the return is huge with increased loyalty.

I've completely forgot his name, but as its now bugging me may have to give Premier Team a call to see if they can find out.

Cheers!
