Wife is travelling with her boss in UC in July...

Does anyone know if 9G and 9K allow forward 'conversation'. It's probably an A340 (VS17) which has a single center row. I think the center row in UC changes direction about midway on an Airbus ... I don't want wifey looking at the back of her bosses seat.

9G and 9K will be fine. Yes the seats do twist the other way (turning from D seats to G seats) so your seats wik face each other, though you are very close to the bassinett positions which are used for babies travelling.

Take a look at the seat map for a more visual view: http://www.v-flyer.com/seats.asp

Thanks,
Sarah

Yes. Why are you confused? Bassinet is in 8D as Sarah has said.

Where the 'twist' is there is a wall section/divider and that is where the bassinetts are (from memory).

Parents with babies are often seated in these seats so I choose to sit further forward or back, not only to be away from baby but also because you may be 'reseated' so that the parent can have the bassinett positions.

Thanks,
Sarah

Why am I confused?

I've flown UC dozens of times. I've never seen a baby in the UC cabin. Ever. I have seen babies hanging on the bulkhead wall in Y/economy.

There was on one VS045 LHR - JFK on 5th March. CC brought over some sort of collapsable contraption and it fitted onto the triangle space where the wall changes direction and the mini bulkhead with the sparkly panel on.

Baby was well behaved too !

If you've flown UC dozens of times it's unusual (some might say fortunate[;)]) never to have seen a baby in the cabin.I've seen them in the UC cabin on a fair few routes. Some parents do travel with their children/babies.

Seen and taken babies on a number of times. The flat bed/play area makes things a lot easier to handle.

Never had a problem with the kids, but some of you may want to steer clear of the LHR-NRT flight on Jul 15th.[}:)]

Dunno... Perhaps it's the route ... EWRLHR and always for business. I've flown Virgin for at least 10 years and I have never seen a young child in Upper Class. I have two rug rats and they have seen the world, but only down the back.

You have obviously never read any of mdvipond's trip reports. We have avidly followed the progress of Tizer in UC from early infancy to her now august age of 3.

T'will be funny to watch this expand until suchtime unaccompanied age is reached...then can nip down the back for a sneaky photo...[}:)]

Howersl, also watch out- SYD run in Nov...when another pesky ankle biter reserves a UCS straight through on the VS200 (you can hear the groans from now...[:#])
