Just a quick update for anyone considering buying the Bose QC2's.
Some of you will know (from a previous post I made some time ago) that my QC2's had been playing up a little. Sound quality was fine, noise cancelling worked, BUT every time I move my head or the ear-cups come into contact with anything (back of seat, etc), they "click" - it's difficult to explain, but VERY annoying.
Anyway, on advice from here, I wrote to Bose. Bearing in mind that mine were bought around 2 years ago and the unit only comes with a 1-year limited warranty.
After 2/3 back-and-forward emails with proof of purchase/serial no. info, etc, I've just received a response.
They're sending me a brand new pair, immediately, for me to collect when I'm back in the US next month - to exchange for my existing ones. No charge, no small-print, just excellent service [y][y][y]
They haven't asked for the existing ones back first, just that I return them when I pick the new ones up. Wow. 10/10, Bose!

I can also attest to Bose's customer service - I had a similar problem and out of warranty had a no quibble offer for a new pair to replace them. Good company, quality products and quality service - but then we should expect that for the prices they charge!

But then you are lucky. You could buy 2 sennheisers for that price and keep one in reserve and assume their customer service is not up to the same standards as BOSE.umm... I think I'll stick with my QC2's.
My basis being that you don't buy two cars just in case one breaks down - you buy one backed by good service & support in the first place

Indeed. But perhaps it maybe more accurate to say that not everyone wants (or is able) to buy a Bentley, but they still get a good level of service and comfort from their BMW. My sennheissers lost a cable from the earpiece. I sent them off, and a new set was back withing a week. Not bad service, although I admit not up to the incredible service of bose which was commented on earlier in the post. But for me, I am happy to pay half the price and forego the incredible service in favour of good service. Of course for keeping my money I have to also put up with(IMHO) a very slightly lesser performance. But like all things in life, you pays your money and makes your choice - Bose[y][y][y][y][y] but a high price, or sennheisser [y][y][y][y] but a more affordable price.

Absolutely agree with your point, 99 - I can't remember the post, but actually pointed someone to the Sennheisers recently. (Just not sure I'd go to the extent of buying two pairs in case one broke )
If you don't use them enough, or the £299 (at a push, £170 in the US) price tag just can't be swallowed, then they're an excellent choice.

Amazing how those cards attract attention, eh? Thanks very much for handing them out. In fact, will buy you a drink while in LAS (though I'm certain you could get free drinks anywhere in town!).
As for me, I can't go anywhere now without my Bose QC2 headphones, my IPOD (yes, even I now have one -- Mr. Fuddy Duddy himself bought an IPOD), medicines (concealed in UCS amenity kit bags, useful for just about everything, I've found), one good book, several magazines for longer flights, my writing journal (to work on TRs, of course!). Too much stuff, I know.

It is true what they say, the first time you dont take something with you is the only the time you will need it.
I always take a bottle of water with me as well to drink once I arrive at my destination. Yeah OK I know you get these in UC but I always end up drinking these before we land.
If you are going to NAS dont bbother with your mobile phone as it wont work, as no UK networks have roaming agreements in the Bahamas as of yet.
