Hello

First time post...Many time VAA flyer, Gold Flying Club, just renewed and a very big fan of VAA...and quite the opposite of BA...

Booked 4 x G class tickets (finally accrued enough miles!) for LHR -SFO Upper tickets for the family holiday in August.

Just looked at the seat map online, and it's all greyed out, and I can't change seat allocations. Looks like the entire 747-400 Upper section is full - surely impossible, especially as I can buy more tickets (if I so desired!)

Anyone know what this might mean? Change of aircraft imminent?(not the bloomin 343 from the Mumbai service, I hope and pray...?)

Can anyone enlighten me?!

And it is good to finally be a member of this group after much time as a voyeur 'on the outside'!

SFO is always operated by a 747 so I very much doubt a change of a/c. Only 60% of seats are available for pre-selecting so it could just mean that all that 60% have been pre-selected, although it usually doesn't even allow you to view the seat map when this has happened.

A call to FC should solve it, if there are seats still available for pre-selection then they will be able to do them over the phone for you.

Welcome to the site, hope you find it useful.

We are on VS19 7th August.

I can get into the seat map and can see 19 selectable seats in UC.

Now that is strange. Just looked again, and nope, all greyed out and I can only 'view set map' not 'view or change seats' as I can on the return flight.

Hmmm.

See you at the bar then? I'll be the one with kids that everyone wants to avoid sitting next to!!...

I'll be there!

I'd still give the premier line a call though re the seats.

It's a mystery. Spoke to them and there are seats available, and no problem with our booking...ho hum.

Weirdly, Slipperman, it looks like we're on the same return flight also - VS 20 on 29th August??

(And I'm in Vegas in April...!)

We're coming back from LAX on the 28th.

Yes, Vegas in April, sadly in Y.
