Great result for Brawn GP.

Going back to Willd's OP, The Virgin Group did sponsor Crystal Palace between 1988 and 1991. There was always the usual childish terrace humour about if Ian Wright and Mark Bright were actually 'virgins'. I remember the 1990 cup final where they wore 'Fly Virgin' for the Final and 'Fly Boston' for the replay.

As to the change of car colours, I think that it can be done if it is agreed by the rest of the teams. Red Bull changed their car colours for the premiere of 'Revenge of the Sith' at the Monaco GP for lots of LucasArts cash.

Great result for a scratch team, Honda made it all possible by continuing to fund things during the transition from what I gather, much praise was heaped on them from certain BrawnGP members. Virgin Group's sponsorship seems to have been agreed with other options in mind. It was interesting to hear SRB say he was investing in Ross Brawn during his interview when questioned about why he was getting involved with this team. If one of the the options is for the team to be re-named to run under the Virgin brand it would not surprise me if the price has not risen somewhat since the result!

I don't recall seeing such a popular win in GP racing for quite some time, all the teams lining the pits and applauding Jenson and Reubens as they drove to Park Ferm was quite something, reminded me of the reception the late great Dale Ernhardt (The Intimidator) was given following his only Daytona 500 win in 1998.

As for SRB swearing on live tele, it was all in good spirits, he described himself as a 'lucky b*stard' for those of you who missed it and Jake described his language as colourful and apologised to the viewers for it.

There is some interesting videos on the Beeb F1 web site where SRB suggests he may be receptive to discussions to put in more money and possible have the team named Virgin, 'watch this space' he said! LINK

Also, as has been said, a very good result for Lewis, having only qualified in fifteenth and then being demoted to eighteeth due to an engine (or gearbox?) change. Shame for Jarno Trulli but rules are rules and he should have known better, pity Lewis didn't get to enjoy the podium celebrations with Jenson that would have been quite something.

Have to say it was a good result for Mercedes too with the top three cars all running Mercedes engines and it was good to hear how supportive they had been to the BrawnGP team over the past few months - well done!

FIA disqualify Lewis following review of radio transmissions between him and his team revealed his team told him to let Jarno by. Reason given is that they mislead stewards by not informing them of this. Jarno reinstated to third place.

And won [^] albeit with reduced points. Watched from the Clubhouse!

Heck, I would think about driving my car through that rain let alone alone a F1 car!

I just wonder who the numb-nuts was who thought an afternoon/evening race in Malaysia was a good idea?

Isn't it the lords of advertising? i.e. no one with any race sense!

Another excellent result for Brawn, I'm sure SRB will be loving it.

I thought that the later race times in Melbourne and Malaysia was something to do we tv times, and making sure as many people as possible all over the world could view it at a reasonable time.
