Anbody got any ideas on which aircraft will be servicing BOS/IAD over the Winter period?

I have a companion voucher to burn so was thinking of a weekend at either of these places in March, but the trip would be in PE, so i would want to be on a 744 or 346 rather than the 343 - and dont try and persuade me to upgrade to UCS - my credit card cant take it!!! :D:D

I know that aircraft can change last minute, but it would be handy to know whether either of these routes are 744/346 equipped this season.

Hello Highflyer!

IÕm not a VS ÒinsiderÓ but my guess would be that they continue to use the 343 aircraft on these routes over winter. We go to Boston every December and for the last 3 years itÕs always been an airbus. Once we had the 346 on the way back but last year it was replaced (gone tech) with a 343 so no suites! [:(!]

IAD is presently showing a 346 outbound and a 343 inbound Ð I guess that may change over the winter to both 346s if the new planes come in (or they may use the upgraded 343 with suites?)

Either way, my gut feeling is that they will continue to use airbus rather that boeing. We'll need an insider to confirm it though :)

Shame Airchabum has moved to Excel airways, but I'm sure Alan is enjoying the change.

maybe some other staffers can fill the gap;)

I agree with Daisy.

BOS/IAD flights are likely to be operated by the A343, with the possibility of an occasional flight on the A346.

The weird thing is over the last 4 years I've been flying the LHR-BOS route every time in the holiday period between Thanksgiving and Christmas the flights seem overbooked every day yet they still only put the Airbus on the route, although I do admit that they often put the A346 on the route (well in the last two years anyway I've been able to have UCS on that route in the holiday period).

I personally miss the day flight from BOS that they used to run, that was nice to leave in the morning and get to LHR by 8PM.
