For anyone that was/is concerned (as I was, when I only saw "3.6 Highflyer Points" in my account) at the lack of 10k, I asked them.

Here's the response:

Thanks for signing up and taking part in this promotion.

The Flying Club miles will be credited directly into your FC account and will not appear in your Virgin Games account.
It can take up to 4 weeks for the miles to appear on your statement.

If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards

Not OK until you complete Step 2 on this page - to match your FC number to your Casino username... ;)[:0]

Do you have to play through £100 of bets from your first deposit, I placed £10 in my account and played up to £90 before I lost the lot[:(!]
If I "top up" my acount again do you think I will get the miles?

No you don't - (it's not in their interest to discourage you from depositing more ;))

As long as your INITIAL deposit is at least £10, and you play through a total of £100 by the closing date, you qualify. [y]

I too am not clued up on this either.

I deposited £40 (£25 then another £15). My game room bet is currently (£112.50) after playing slots so I've entered my casino userID and FC number. Now what?

Sorry if I sound stupid here and yes I need to get seriously clued up before Vegas in November!!!! I've only ever done the slots in Vegas and I really wouldn't know where to start on the tables [:I] [:I]

Hi Stephen - which game do you play at Virgin Casino, I'm intrigued? I'm sitting here watching the threads, but need an additional 10,000 FC miles desperately for Australia next year. So I'm now going to dabble in the Casino.

SANDYT, I would suggest playing Blackjack for 3 good reasons.

1. The house advantage is lower than some other games.

2. It's ideal if you don't want to "gamble" so much, but you're prepared to lose a small percentage.

3. It's easy to play as the rules are simple

I did this with £25 and played £1 a hand. Hands are quickly over and I ended up playing my £100 (actually £103 - I got carried away!) and still had £18 left.

£7 for 10,000 miles was great. It's okay to gamble big if you can afford to, but if you 'need' the miles try Blackjack for consistancy.

IMHO it's the safest way to do it.

I've just followed this thread through (away from home all last week), dived in and have met the criteria for the miles as well as being a couple of pounds up on the deal at present :D

Two thoughts strike me:

Firstly, if you want the safest odds, then playing roulette and betting on both red and black (or odd and even) at the same time means you're guaranteed the house payout, therefore risking no more than a couple of percent of your stake. So if you deposit £50 initially you'll get it matched after playing ten times that amount, and will have lost only a small percentage of your original stake. You're pretty much bound, therefore, to make a £40 or so profit on the deal.

Secondly, if you have a Virgin Credit Card, then putting (say) a couple of thousand pounds into the casino (which you can play using the method above or not), then simply withdraw it back to your CC, will give you 4000 miles a time......

The house limit is £2000 per day. Err, mods, do you want to move this into the CH? ;)

Best wishes

David

Edited to add: By betting on all the 1:1 options you can stake £6 on each spin, and the worst that can happen is losing £3 if the ball lands in Green 0 which, statistically, should be once in every 37 spins.

I've just spotted rule 7 on the T&Cs for the "double your stake" promo. It reads:
Bets on Roulette, Table Blackjack and Multi-Hand Blackjack do not count towards the total stake.
So, sadly, that bit won't work if you follow the roulette advice. The rest of it hold good, however, which means if you have the self discipline to stop when you reach £100 staked, you'll pick up 10K FC miles for free or, at worst, £3 or £6. :D

sure I do,but they dont earn me 10k miles which is the whole point of the thing..also on the roulette front,im sorry to say your logic is kind of wrong.

Roulette is the only table game where no matter what you do the house has the same advantage over you,if they have a passe rule then your looking at about a 1.1 percent advantage for the house.

No argument on that, Dave, but the intention is to stake the £100 required to qualify for the 10K FC miles in the fastest, lowest risk way possible. By running a £1 stake on each of the 3 x two-way bets, therefore betting a total of £6 on each spin, and noting the house rule which returns half of these stakes when a zero comes up, roulette is the quickest, safest way to do it.

Turning back to UK v-flyers, who qualify for this offer, I've just had a call from Virgin CC, who apparently automatically pick up on any substantial deposits with casino sites and check with the customer. Big thumbs up for that! Anyway, having satisfied themselves I'm legitimate, they confirmed that payments to Virgin Casino will attract FC miles, even if the cash is withdrawn back to the Credit Card thereafter. [y][y]

Im not allowed to get into the casino so I can't look at the rules,so assuming your right about the 2-1 bets being halved on the zero rather than just the even money bets which is the normal passe rule (which btw isn't offered in Vegas) your looking at .8% assuming you just play 17 spins (17x6=102)your looking at a 2.80 pound loss, give or take,of course if you get unlucky you could lose more..also you do have no ways of winning..so what you may want to do is bet the 6x 2-1 bets, plus one pound on the zero..you lower the number of spins to 15 to reach the 100 pound mark plus if you hit the zero you would win 32 pounds..of course you could end up losing 15 pounds..guess thats why they call it gambling.

Dave - it's only the even bets that are halved when zero comes up in Virgin Casino, as elsewhere (Even/Odd; Red/Black; and 1-18/19-36). The 2-1 bets (1st 12; 2nd 12; 3rd 12) will lose the whole stake on a zero.

I am very happy to bow to the greater experience of anyone on this (but particularly to someone living where you do!). But unless I'm missing something the probability of losing £3 in 17 spins, betting as I've described, is <0.5, and the probability of losing more than that reduces substantially. I've got little interest in gambling, but I'm very happy to pick up the 10K FC miles for nothing :D

Best wishes

ok so it is normal british rules then..in which case the houses edge is 1.35%..I understand what you are saying, but as I said before, roulette no matter what you do will always give a casino the same edge..

But also as you said, for 4 or 5 pounds with any luck for 10k,hell you cant go wrong.
