Yup, a lot of people remembered in this thread (page 2, southernbelle's post), and this thread(vscss's post, about 3/4 way down) ;)

I will let you know if this holds true in a couple of weeks on a Limobike I've booked privately taking me on another free UC award ticket.
To be fair to VS - why are you even trying?

They've made it perfectly clear that the policy has changed, and that the service is now strictly for D & J ticket holders. Why push the issue?

Sorry Paul, but until you'd mentioned it that policy hadn't been made perfectly clear to me! And from the reference you gave it would seem that that policy wasn't in place back in November last year.

I still think that if you've earned those miles you deserve the perks, although I can see the congestion isuue being a problem especially with the increase in VS LHR flights over the years.

Interestingly on my return segment I have decided to give BA FC another chance after switching to VS UC from BA FC a couple of years ago. The kinds of erosions of service in VS we've been talking about in this thread, particularly the meal service on overnighters, are prime reasons for taking this choice on this occasion.

Hi Howard,

You're right - it definitely wasn't in place last November. The details were covered on va.com, in a "news" piece (but not as a press release) which I can't find.

They do, however, now publish the qualifying fare information on the ground transfers page.

Yup, and the Navy curtains between the seats.

Even more confusing, they're now working on New, New New Club World to take SRB on with an UCS equivalent...

... maybe it's time for their marketing dept. to change the name - it's just getting silly now ;)

Glad you chipped in there - I thought jp was suggesting that NNCW _was_ the touted Odyssey style and not just an extra bit of foam. They have only just finished fitting out the LGW fleet with NCW, and I'd guess the small 767ER fleet may never see NCW.

Still, there is no doubt VS have regained the comfort award in J with their UCS. As you suggest, it's a continual game of catch up between them.

On our recent trip with SAA I was told that they will be re-introdcuing metal knives in the near future.
