My family and I (2 adults 1, 3year old 1,8month old) are flying VS upper and need some advice. We are flying to Barbados from LGW and have requested a skycot and have been assured they will have one but where will it be located ?
Can we use the lounges with children ?
Whats the best bit of advice/hint on enjoying Our flight?
Are there therapists on flights from LGW ?
Hope to get as much feed back as possible please.

A warm welcome to V-Flyer ny :)

If you use The forum search function, which can be found in small red lettering towards the top right of your screen, between 'private messages' and 'FAQ', you will find the answers to all of your questions within the forums.

Briefly, there are no problems with children travelling in UC using the Clubhouse, in fact the CH is quite child friendly.
I am not sure about skycots in the suites, I didn't think there were places for them. but a search will reveal several discussions about them.

I don't think there are therapists on the LGW flights, but you can pre book treatments in the CH. There are only 14 suites in the LGW planes and there isn't room for the IFBT. Again, this has been discussed a few times before and a search will bring up the answers.

Have a great trip.

NY,
Welcome to V-flyer. As Nick has already said a search will answer most of your questions.
A couple of things that may help.
If you can, Prebook 6A,6K and either 7A or 7K.
6A and 6K are right at the front close together and may be better for the little'uns.
Secondly travel to LGW the day before, stay overnight at a local hotel and arrive early at the clubhouse and make the most of it's amenities. Don't forget to prebook beauty treatments at the clubhouse.
Enjoy your holiday and don't forget to post a TR on your return.
Tim.

We're flying to BGI next April with our 6 month old (son? daughter? should know by next week! [:0]). We were led to believe that there aren't any skycot positions in UC. If VS are promising you one, I'd love to know where they're hoping to put it...?

There is a skycot position on the A346, but not on the 747, so I have doubts about the promise of a skycot to Barbados (ISTBC).

Edna

PS To mdvipond: Good luck with the impending arrival of the mini-Vips. Let us know how you get on.

Many thanks for the kind words, Edna. I'll keep you posted on Junior's imminent arrival. Starting to get VERY nervous now...

BTW, I think you should add, "It makes one very proud to be a little cloud" ;)

As mentioned above there are no skycot positions in Upper Class on LGW based 747s. When are you travelling? From time to time a LHR based 747 (which does have a skycot position) is put on this route.

Hi thanks for all the feed back. We have booked to stay at the Hilton the night before. We are flying on the 31st Oct and Virgin customer care had told us there would be a sky cot but I will be ringing them tomorrow to see what is going on. It costs a lot to travel UC and I would proabably have saved my money and travelled PE with a sky cot had we known there was no sky cots in UC.
It really is a long time to sit with a baby on your lap!
I have enjoyed the forums there is loads of good reviews of flights but I havent seen any from LGW - Barbados
Thanks V much

We did LGW-BGI in April this year in UCS, ny. Never got around to posting a TR - hangs head in shame - but they were really great flights (admittedly sans ankle-biters!). Done this route in UC 4 or 5 times now and it's always been very good, and the suites have made it even better - only 14 of 'em in the pointy bit, v. exclusive.

The lack of skycot is, of course, an issue. As I've mentioned above, we're giving it a go next year. We're hoping the suites will help in that there's room for a wee one to share with a parent in 'bed mode' or even give Jr. a whole suite for a while whilst ma and pa eat together at t'other. Not sure about the 3 year old though - does he/she have their own seat?

Sorry to say that i have cancelled the flight with Virgin and booked BA[:I].They have sky cots ! I think Virgin have made a mistake not having them, as this is a flight to a family island.
