Secondly, if you have a Virgin Credit Card, then putting (say) a couple of thousand pounds into the casino (which you can play using the method above or not), then simply withdraw it back to your CC, will give you 4000 miles a time......

Be carefull doing this some cards now treat this as a "cash advance" and so will charge you a fee of 2% or so - MBNA do this on some of their cards - so best check first!

HI,

I have tried this. When Virgin Casino sent the money back it appeared as a payment!! Which meant I got the pointsÉÉÉÉ. Then I got a little greedy and tried it again I did not see that you can only take 3k£ off in 90days, Which meant I has to email a copy of my drivers licence and phone bill.

Bad news was I ended up having a little flutter so am 50£ down but 16000 points up :) :)!!

Is still giving the miles? Had a look at the website and can see nothing that says anything about 10,000 miles - just about a 100% bonus of whatever you pay in.

Yes, it is. The promo is not on one of the regular Virgin Games pages - it's on this specific page.

Register your account (get your 100% bonus, too ;)) and then register your account name and FC number on the site I've linked to above. [y]

Can someone confirm this for me.

You have to play through £100 for the points etc.
Does this mean I have to deposit £100 and use all of that for betting, or does it mean I could deposit £10, win £90 and carrying on playing with my winnings?

What about the "up to £50 bonus" - when does that get added?

Just a word of warning if playing Virgin Casino and you use your VS M/Card to top up....MBNA treat online casino transactions as cash advances so you will get stung with an extra cash fee on top of the amount you paid [:(!]

I've been using my virgin FC CC to deposit with Virgin Games for 4 months. On previous statements I have not been charged for a cash advance ( and have had FC points credited for all transactions )

I have also used the card to deposit to betfair and VC Poker and again was not charge for a cash advance. ( Wow, this makes it sound like I have a gambling problem [:I] )

It was an article I read in todays (Wednesday 28th) Daily Express money section.

The article mentions these card issuers charging a £2 cash fee are:

Alliance & Leicester
Abbey
Virgin Money (I take that as meaning the Virgin M/Card)

It goes on to say that you need to check if the card issuer treats online casino transactions as cash advances.

Just checked the T&C of the Virgin CC. It includes :

cash transaction Ð any transaction under which you receive cash or a cash substitute by using your card or card number, including foreign currency, travellerÕs cheques and postal orders.

No mention of online casinos. If they are going to start treating online casinos as a cash advance I would hope they would update the T&C's.

Anyway I can't see how it qualifies as a cash substitute as with my gambling record I never get anything back[:(]

I had a lovely time playing Blackjack yesterday. Generally was getting 19 from two cards, so now the dealer's go......on average it would get a 10, then amazingingly enough another 10 / picture card beating me. Or, something like 2, 4, 6, and other low numbers which in 98% of all plays ended up with the dealer getting 21 or more than me it needed to win :(
If I have say 14 and picked another card, 100% of the time it would be an 8 or above.......only twice did the dealer not get the exact card needed and went bust...
Did get Blackjack a couple of times though.

Yup, that's worked for me to: 10K miles added to my FC account, £2K passed to Virgin Casino (and returned to my VS CC as a payment, not a refund), and another 4K miles on my FC account in consequence. Looks like it works :D

Best wishes

Thanks for the heads-up about this, guys. Here's how I got my 10k miles (yet to be credited) and walked away £8 richer [8D] :

Play roulette and bet on any of the thirds. Double up on every bet you lose, so that when your number comes up, you'll always be a little bit better off (WARNING: If you're very unlucky, or don;t have the funds to back yourself up, you can lose all your money. This tactic works for me and might not work for you, so please don't invoice me if you end up having to remortgage your house ;) ). Once you've boosted your coffers by about £10, keep placing £4 bets on both red AND black, and stick 20p on 0.

This way, you'll soon rack up £100 worth of stakes, and you'll only lose a couple of quid. (Some of you might not want to bet the 20p on 0, but I recommend it because it pays 35 to 1 (£7 from 20p stake), so you'd lose £1.20 if the 0 comes up, as opposed to £8 if it comes up and you've not bet on it.

Like I said Ð it works for me but isn't fool-proof.

Not too bad a method for getting through £100 of bets.......luckier if you don't get 0 coming up as you lose £1.20 a time there compared to 20p for getting red/black which pay odds of 2:1.

One thing that I think would be handy is an indication of exactly how much you've bet on screen before you spin the wheel or whatever. I've noticed you click on say a third, and your cash drops by £8 when you only thought you'd bet £1 or something like that. Same with the other games especially slots - playing multiple lines really eats up your money.

I played the roulette in a similar way to you, though I only backed red. Starting with 50p, if it won I staked another 50p, if lost I doubled it, most I had to stake was £2.

However although my intention was functional (turnover £100) I must admit I enjoyed playing blackjack - but found that I was slowly losing ground - so back to the roulette to recouperate. Also had a few goes on the racing - mostly losers, except for a brilliant 20p win at 7-1.

Great fun for a total loss of £1.48 and a bonus of 10,003 miles.

Now's the test - I must never play it again.

Anyone playing on a mac? I can play roulette, but cannot select any of the other games. Just wondering if it's my machine or a genreal issue?

I think that's the key here Ð who's going to close their accounts now?!

This raises another question: If I wish to withdraw my money and close the account (bearing in mind my miles haven't been aded to my account yet) will I still get the miles? I'll probably err on the side of caution and wait until the miles are credited. Just have to avoid the temptations of the shiny, spinning wheel [}:)]

Does anyone know what games pay the most miles out?
Managed to get 15.69 miles so far playing a mixture of blackjack, roulette, a couple of slots, Monopoly and some higher/lower game. Would rather concentrate on play more of something that is going to get me more miles in the long run, assuming they aren't all the same.
