In 2003, we launched Virgin Atlantic Heroes as a way of rewarding those members of our staff who really go that extra (Flying Club) mile to make sure your Virgin Atlantic experience is a special one.

Here's how it works:
You nominate your favourite Virgin Atlantic staff member, giving us as much detail as possible. Those with the strongest nominations are put forward to a panel of judges, who select a winner for each category. Eventually we end up with winners in each category and one overall winner.

.....

Now it’s that time again - we’re taking nominations for Virgin Atlantic Heroes 2006. Heat 1 will close on 31 December 2005, so if there’s any one of our staff you think has done an outstanding job recently, this is your opportunity to let us know. Not only could you put them in line to win the Flying Club award and £1,000, but also £10,000 if they win the overall 'Superhero' award. Plus, if you nominate a Flying Club finalist, you’ll be invited to join them at our lavish awards ceremony.

Awww, there, there - it's just some sloppy web editing ;) The link provided has what must be an internal web development server in the URL (stage20). The link should be this one (login required).

If it's any consolation, they've done the same thing with the Retail Therapy competition, if you access it from the competitions index page (though it's ok if you access it from the link on the Flying Hub page)

There's problems with links nearly every month *sigh*

Cheers

Having had the pleasure to be at the 2005 Heroes Awards Dinner, can I say that if your nominee is succesful to be a finalist, you will have a great time:D:D

Well, I nominated my Hero. My dealings with her, on which her performance was of course excellent, relate back to Dec 04; I hope this is not too early to qualify.

I do hope she wins. Mostly of course because she deserves it, but also because the glittering dinner sounds great fun.

As an aside, I am sure some of you will be surprised to hear (given my open views on the poor performance of VS customer service) that my nomination is from VS customer service!

I just tried on the link above after previously trying on about 20 different occasions to nominate my 'hero'.
The link STILL doesn't work for me[:#]

Yep, I got the same thing I suspect. I put the reasons for my nomination in the box, but when I tried to submit, my reasons were rejected as invalid - I assume it was the format rather than the reasons themselves. I had to ring CS who told me to email it to them. Bit of a shame really as I did not want to email a CS nomination to CS depatrment.
