Indeed.. it's one of the many 'systems' that work in your head, but never work in real life: due to emotion and finite numbers. If you were a robot, and had enough funds, then yes, you would eventually maintain the system to minimise losses.. but in real life, we get nervous when the bet gets very high, and we have finite money to play with.

and don't forget the table limits.

In my method, it worked using a 20p bet doubles to 40p then 80p then 1.60. Not too much if you remeber to have a maximum bid limit so say you bet red and it comes up black 4 times in a row you simply stop and bet 20p again instead of carrying on.

Simply Accept a bad streak and hope to things will change. I know that it can be applied to more advanced crazy terms whereby you always double and have no limit. then people think i never lose the money until i stop betting, therefore carry on and hit a bad streak and end up placing huge bets. But a 20p-£2 range the nerves are not really an issue.

I only did that enough to cover the £2 to cover the green for 20p and £10 split red/black no lose bets.

As soon as we all acknowledge that there is no foolproof scheme for the layman, then we can enjoy the experience realisticly

The double up system doesn't only work in your head, it also works in simulations and is proven, but as you said given that you have unlimited funds.

I hear from my friends in the industry that pokerbots are a really big problem now, they have no emotions .

Me, I think, how sad it is to have a bot do gambling for you, what's next, have a bot do the sex act for you so it is always perfect!?

Came to this late, and it worked for me! 10,000 miles in the pot and it cost me £11.80 now that's what I call a good deal. For the no. 1 another 10,000 miles and it cost -£0.60!

As said, it's fun with a twist in terms of miles. Now it's done.

What a great offer! Paid in £20, played safe on roulette until I had bet £100 through my account.

As I reckoned £20 was a fair price to pay for 10k FC miles I then bet on "thirds" and was now +£18. Had a look at Monopoly, did not have a clue but clicked a few buttons and hey presto profit was now £38. Whoever said "Ignorance is bliss" was somewhere near the mark!!

I have returned the £58 to my CC, and have the £20 bonus to waste. The points were credited to my FC account in 4 days!!!

Played for the wife, and alas not so much luck, only made £1.80 profit.

All in all a great offer, the best part of £60 returned profit and 20k miles.

It would be interesting to know whether this initiative has been considered a success in the corridors of power.

Presumably they could well have paid out a million or more miles. Most of us on here have played to turn over the money and then bail out.

Meanwhile there have been a number of bonuses (refer a friend, spend 10 times your initial stake etc). I've walked away with a profit of £150 which equates to the bonuses on three family accounts. Playing mostly the red on roulette meant I just about broke even on the actual gambling.

If we are typical on this board, then most flying club members will have broken even(ish) and won't be playing any more. Not what they wanted!

Just noticed in the Casino FAQ that withdrawals against deposits paid by Mastercard will be repaid by cheque:

"Fill in the details, and weÕll transfer the money over to you. ItÕll normally go back on to your card, but if you use MasterCard, weÕll send you a cheque."

Does this mean that VCC FC cards will receive a cheque repayment rather than a direct to account payment?

I noticed that as well but, in the event, payment was made directly back to my Virgin Mastercard within 2 or 3 days of the request. And it goes on as a credit payment, not as a refund (so there is no problem with the miles that have already been awarded).

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but there has been a change on the page where you withdraw/convert high flyer points to flying club.

NOTE Ð Please make sure you have accrued at least 50 points before you attempt to convert them.

Shame really. I converted 16 points and then another 3 when this whole thing started. I now need just 21 points to reach 50,000 and thought it would be nice to round the miles up to a nice neat 50k.

I got my Amex 20,000 miles so effortlessly when others didn't,so maybe these will be more difficult to get credited without correspondence[:?]

OK the, as a northern accountant I quite clearly couldn't believe that you could get owt for nowt[:(!]. However I took the plunge today just before the offer closes. I opened an account, registered my FC number to the games account, deposited £10. I then did the black/red and 10p on the 0 thing. Ended up loosing £1. Had over £100 in my Games Room Bet figure.

The question is have I done everything right? Will I get my 10000 miles for the £1 I have lost. If so I better have a fling with the rear admiral's FC account tomorrow!

Oh! and will they give me £10 to match my original deposit.

You should indeed receive your miles, as you've fulfilled the criteria. I think you should get the 100 per cent match bonus (in casino chips) too Ð look back at previous posts here for details about matching the deposit, or see the Ts and Cs on the site if you're unsure.

What's wrong with doing it today? I've just done it myself.

Loaded up £50, played through £175 so far and my balance is £52.50. That means i'm ok for the 10000 miles, but need to play thorugh another £325 if I want a £50 bonus. Not sure if I will.
