Thanks. I was most drawn to reading..
Emirates placed a stunning order for 42 Boeing aircraft worth nearly $10bn (£5.8bn, E8.5bn). The airline, which may list in the near future, is expected to more than double its fleet to 150 aircraft within six years.
That's a phenomenal order, and surely 150 aircraft make it the biggest airline in the world?

I think American Airlines have something like 700+ aircraft, and Southwest possibly 500-ish, so Emirates would still be small in comparison. However, their growth is stunning.

I agree regarding SQ. I meant routes out of dubai that EK already operate. The article decker highlighted suggested the 2 airlines would supply traffic to each others networks, could this work by simply collaboration on the dubai route [:?] That would mean EK would be supplying traffic to VS UK hubs for onward connections but not reciprocated at the dubai end. Guess we will just have to wait and see, certainly interesting development.

I am probably biased though, a VS earning partner out of australia with a stopover in dubai and then onto dublin (been talk of EI/EK collaboration/codeshare) might be very handy for us in future. Perhaps seeing things that aren't actually there :)

Certainly sounds like a good idea, I hope it all works out OK and within good time.
