Here's a quick round-up of news from the VS network...

From Februuary 2006, Cape Town flights will operate daily for the 1st time since the route began.

Las Vegas flights will become daily in 2006 (date tba).

G-VWKD (the latest A346) has a limited number of new W & Y Class seats that are being trialled. If the trial is successful the new seats will be rolled out across the A346 fleet during 2006.

The next A346 to be delivered in February 2006 will have a new config of 45J/38W/225Y (currently 45J/28W/233Y). This will result in an improved seat pitch in Economy.

Following feedback from passengers and crew (probably including the 20+ pages on this site;)) the Good Night Service has been reviewed and changes will be rolled out in early 2006. More details to follow..

Thanks for the up-date.

I dont know if you are able to divulge, but if you can... are Y & W seats leather, are IFE boxes placed in a different less obtrusive place... and when will GNF change & to what (pref before 16th Feb ;)).

Wow - all of that is superb news!!

Good to hear the increase in W and Y seat pitch - both of which will no doubt go down very well with pax.

Also interesting to see that GNF has been reviewed, will be interested to see how they change it.

Great stuff - makes sense to increase the number of W seats and all changes appear very customer service oriented and that's excellent.

Will look out for more.

Jetstreamer,
Really appreciate these updates as they give us a glimpse into the future. It's also good to hear that VS is continuing to innovate, and to apply lessons learned from pax input.

Best regards,
Chuck-

Hurray for more pitch and legroom in Y. It's desperately needed, especially for us taller passengers.

Great news Jetstreamer - even if I do not understand how VS can remove 8 Y seats, replace them with 10 PE seats and still have room to increase seat pitch across all of Y.

Hi Jetstreamer

Do you have any information about the location of these new seats? - in case anyone should find themselves on G-VWKD.

I've not yet seen the new seats so I'm not sure if they are leather (or not). I know there was a project to reduce the size of the IFE boxes so hopefully this will be incorporated in the new config.

No date as yet for the relaunch of GNF. The only information I have so far is that GNF is likely to be discontinued on some routes. Watch this space!

Apologies that I'm being very vague but as soon as I have more details I will pass them on [:#]

I should have mentioned that the mid-Economy galley is being removed and that is where the extra space is coming from.

No need to apologise - we really appreciate even the slightest bit of insider knowledge!

My bet would be GNF discontinued on VS024/VS200/VS201/VS602....

bets anyone [8D]?
