Dear Virgin Atlantic,

On Wednesday, November 9th 2005, I returned to the US on Virgin Atlantic flight 001 to Newark.

Normally when I travel to/from London, I terminate in EWR, but this time it was necessary to make a connecting flight to Upstate New York. Having never made an International to Domestic connection in EWR, I was a little concerned with my 90 minute connection, afraid that a long line in immigration could destroy hopes of making the flight.

Seated in 49C I was lucky enough to be seated across from your Cabin Service Supervisor, Emma. During departure from LHR I made a comment about my concern with the connection time, and she offered to help me deplane a little quicker upon arrival in EWR. I just want to take a moment of your time and applaud her performance throughout the flight. Not only were all of her PA announcements clear and understandable, but her overall attitude and attention to detail throughout the flight was absolutely superb. In today’s fast-paced environment, sometimes it’s the little things that make the difference- such as taking the time during takeoff to learn your names and offer some friendly conversation, and consistently making sure the galley curtain is pulled closed so the light doesn’t disturb those seated nearby. And Yes, Emma did see to it that I was the first person off of the plane in EWR, and if my connection hadn’t been delayed due to weather, I still would have made my flight, thanks to the excellent customer service your crew members put into your service.

I believe employees like Emma should be rewarded when they seem to go above and beyond to make sure your trip is as smooth and seamless as possible. This recent journey simply amplifies my belief that Virgin Atlantic offers the best service, and the reason you are the only carrier I will fly with over the Atlantic. The drive and dedication that employees like Emma offer vastly surpasses all of the other airlines I’ve flown with, including Delta, Continental, British Airways and American Airlines.

Please express my thanks to Emma for her help in Newark, keep up the fantastic work.
