NYLON wrote:Pete, I just noticed something: When I click 'Forum' in the menu, nothing happens.

Shouldn't it link to this page: viewforum.php?f=4# ?

No, otherwise touch users (iPads, iPhones) wouldn't be able to get at the sub menus, since there's no such thing as hover on a touch device. They need to click to get the menu to appear.

NYLON wrote:One more thing!

I just tried to upload an attachment (a small screen-grab - 87kb) and got this response: "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

Thanks for the heads up. The default board settings were for a max 50MB total, a number we reached about 10 years ago ;-)

Now unlimited. Attach away!

Pete wrote:Ad size. Struggled with this one, since the costs of running a dedicated server these days really require some ads to defray the cost. The two ad sizes are both the industry standards - MPUs and Leaderboards. What I might do, though, is look into whether it's possible to turn the banners off for subscription members.

Now implemented. The ad banners that appear in the first post of the page and below the last post on the page will now not display if you have a current membership. Sign up now, you know it makes sense ;-)

Pete - sorry to ask again as I appreciate you have enough to sort out - but will the little planes (that when you hover over tell you where the poster is next flying to ) ever make a come back ? I really loved that feature .

Thank You.

If I can figure out a better way of implementing them than the previous method, then yes, but that may take a little time.

Pete, I've just done my belated TR for a flight in April but the new TR page won't let me go back earlier than June for the date (unless I'm being today's dimmo which wouldn't surprise me).

The back / forward arrows are there, just very light grey on grey - another one I need to update! ;-)

Really excellent work Pete.

As a member of a number of forums over the years, upgrading the boards almost always seems to be a complete hash met with a bucket load negative feedback and members leaving. This is the complete opposite, everything is better.

That's how it's done! Thanks for your time and effort.

Just logged into the new V-Flyer for the first time since the migration. So far I'm liking the new look!

Well done Pete! :D

Pete, are there any issues with the luggage tag page? it took me through to paypal and I clicked "pay", it had a think about it and sent me back to the start. Guessing I haven't ordered them :!:

I had tested it in sandbox mode, but not seen any new orders since going live. So perhaps it's not working. I'll have a look.

Hmm... ok, couldn't *see* a problem, but that's not to say there isn't one. If you can get to the PayPal stage and the shopping cart is all there, then the next bit of the process is up to PayPal (and that certainly should be working, you'd have thunk!). After clicking pay it'll return you to the luggage tag store (with an empty basket), but you'll get an email confirmation of the purchase - or that's what's supposed to happen. Haven't seen a notification from PayPal, so I guess it didn't.

Can you have another bash and take some screenshots so I can get to the bottom of what's going wrong?

Ta

Looks like it's working, just received an email from Paypal confirming payment, many thanks.

Virgin AU Flyer wrote:Also I wrote a PM and hit send. However it is still sat in Outbox rather than having moved to Sent. I couldn't see an option to hit send from this stage? Should it have moved to Sent?

The new private messaging works slightly differently now. Messages appear in the outbox until the recipient reads it, when it goes to 'sent'. Confusing slightly, I know, but this gives you the ability to edit the message before it is read.
