Hello everyone,

Im new to this forum and have a question, I would be grateful for any info.

My husband is a frequent flyer using J class fares, and has accrued heaps of flyer points but has never used them. I am a newby to Virgin and have no points. We would like to know the best way to book 2 premium economy tickets to Las Vegas in July using his points. The info on the web site is quite confusing. Does anyone have any info regarding booking codes etc, is it better (cheaper)to book cash+miles, or all miles or book economy and use miles to upgrade.

Thanking u in advance for any assistance.:)

First of all welcome to V-Flyer.

To give a clear answer the first question I would have is how many miles does your husband have and how many is he willing to part with.

If you are thinking of using miles it would be a good idea to booking it now,as of March 1st the rates will change and it will cost you 200k miles in UC instead of 160k miles.

If your thinking of flying in Pe it will cost you 150k miles in stead off 125k miles. Both of these are for two people.

If your thinking of using cash + miles then it's a personal choice.

This topic has been discussed at length in the members section.

Hi Shirl

Welcome to the forum!

As Dave mentioned, there are a few ways to get your trip to LAS in PE, its really up to you to choose which you think is more beneficial to yourselves.

If you have a lot of miles it is likely to be much more economical to use those (currently 62'500 miles per ticket) the only thing you need to pay for will be the taxes on those flights.

You can also buy Economy tickets and upgrade them to PE for 20k miles each.

The best thing to do may be to call Flying Club and get them to check availibilty for reward seats on the dates you would like to go. You can also book reward flights yourself through the Virgin Website but i find it easier to call them as they can check all the dates and costs for you.

If you have any more queries, feel free to ask :)

Welcome to the forum Shirl.

As a side note to your questions, if your husband is a frequent J flyer with VS does he have gold status? If he does then you are eligible for a supplementary a silver card which would be beneficial to you.
