I would challenge your statement about BA becoming the DFS of the airline world, as Aer Lingus already have that status as far as I am concerned. Not only does one sale start as soon as another one finishes but they frequently overlap! DFS could learn a lot from them.
To get back to the topic in hand, Aer Lingus's business product isn't at all bad and to my mind is far superior to anything BA can offer in Business. Their Club World seats are dire and to be avoided at all costs.
EI's Business offering is good, especially now they have introduced flat beds in their Business cabin and the fact that you get Pre-Clearance in Dublin Airport is certainly a bonus on arrival in the USA.
