We are flying out to Miami in November and was originally booked on the new A330 Neo, had a schedule change notification a couple of days ago and we are now on a 787/9!! ( First world problems and all that ) I have managed to get row A row 1&2 which I'm happy with and we also now have the bar! Has anyone had any recent experience experience of the older aircraft, are they still in good condition?

Also, on a separate note, we are flying back from MCO back to Heathrow in December, they have put that flight back by 2 hours from 18.45 to 20.45. Do I have any comeback as to changing the flight? Ideally we would like to fly back to Manchester.

Any advise would be appreciated,

Steve

I flew on Penny Lane B787 back from Miami in May.
I personally prefer A35k and A339, but I must admit, having the open space above my legs and feet I do prefer.
That being said, no WI-FI on the aircraft when we flew, the bar was not stocked/no one there - granted a night time flight.
Seat buttons didn’t work so could only lie flat or straight up.
That being said, it was just as good as any other flight I’ve taken with Virgin.

I am booked next March on the Vs117 to Miami currently on A339 and booked the retreat suites for my big birthday. Will be gutted if aircraft swaps, noticed vs5 has changed from A339 to A333.

In regards to Orlando flight, as the change is less than 5 hours you’ll have to pay the change fee and price different to move to another flight.
Only if it’s more than 5 hours will you be able to change.
But on manage my booking (if not a reward seat) click make a change and you maybe able to change without paying…

I can sympathize. I had a tpa-lhr return in January, both legs booked in the RS.
changed to a 300 the day before, first leg, changed to a 300 also on the return.
I have a MCO-LHR-TPA booked next week RS both ways. the MCO flight they changed the time by 2 hours and bumped me out the RS overnight, the return...yup just changed to a 300. I seem destined never to enjoy the RS
