IFE boxes in PE 346 under which seats?

Can anyone tell me which seats the IFE boxes sit in the PE section of the 346's that fly LHR/HKG/SYD - or, thinking about it does V-Port even create this problem? I've got 19E currently, and would really like to know if I've inadvertantly picked a wrong-un from the perspective of IFE boxes impeding the foot-space?

I've searched this elsewhere and couldn't see a definitive answer - does anyone have a clue?

I always try to remember where they sit but never can. However I sat in 19E last week on way to JFK and there was no obstacle under the seat in front so that one looks OK. I was in 21G on the way back and that was OK too so I guess if the box is anywhere it is under F.

Hi Phil, I meant to put 19D in my original post [:I], not 19E, as there's no "E" seat as far as I can see (they're AC-DFG-HK) - did you mean "D" as well?

If yes, looks like 19D is clear then? I think I'm going to try and put a definitive answer to this on my TR.

I guess it was 19D (middle section aisle on left). I checked the seatmaps before posting and that is showing the seats as EFG in the centre so I guess it needs updating.

Yes - the airbus seatmaps are slightly incorrect with regard to the PE sections. It should be DFG - it's being worked on at the moment.

That would make sense, as I looked at both the VF seat guides and then the VA web site for booking.

Not quite in PE but in Y, the IFE box is under A,D,G,K. And at the rear of the aircraft where the seatings change to a 2x3x2 configurations, the box is under A,D,K. Don't know whether you can deduce from that information for PE.

I don't think Y to PE can be directly extrapolated, and from Buffy's post it seems that is the case. I'm hoping I'll be ok in my "D" seat.

I'm travelling in row A in economy because I want a window seat. I guess if there is not enough room I can swap with the other half in row C, who is a bit shorter [}:)] On the other hand, the OH always needs the loo more than me so it would be more of an inconvenience to be disturbed than to have less room for my feet.

What I need to know is, how much room under the seat does the IFE box actually take up?

I guess it's fair to say that the box takes up the best part of half the space under the seat in front. That said the bf and I were at the back of a 744 with V:Port (seats 62A&C out and 63A&C back) and didn't find it to be that much of a problem (and we're both 6ft+ tall). I don't know how other people find them that much of a problem...I can cope with the loss of a couple of inches of foot space if it means V:Port!!!

Personally I would go for the leg room over v-port every time. Sorry, but there it is.

It's fair enough, it's interesting to see how different people rate different aspects of personal space. I guess some people feel more comfortable with wider leg room, personally I find that as my legs only just go under the seat in front, I can live with the metal cage around the v:port box there as well... Personal preference really!

Id rather have more legroom.

Saying that though ive never been on an AC with Vport, so i dont really know what im missing!

As it will be my first time on VS, I'm looking forward to V-Port. I accept that legroom will be limited but as I've said in other posts, I don't mind being a bit hemmed in as it makes me feel more secure during turbulence. The OH is partially sighted so wants the screen to be near anyway. But having said that, I'm sure I could feel quite secure in a UC suite!
