Just thought i would inform everyone that qualifing for season two of the flying club swingers has offically ended today @ 5pm.

The final takes place at Manor house golf club (which is 2 hours from London) on the 30th of March.

The prizes are as follows. 2 PE tickets for the winners of both the Club and Fun leaderboards. 2 economy tickets for the runners up of both the Club and Fun leaderboards. There may also be longest drive and closest to the pin prizes in the form of a weeks car hire and Fourballs in top golf clubs. There may also be a car up for grabs if anyone bags a hole in 1. (last year it was a sweet smart roadster)

As the defending champion, VS have asked me to be the first to tee off in the final.

Will have more information on wednesday.

Are there any other V-flyers that have also qualified for the final???

I guess they had to cut back on the prizes after AJ & HL took them for all they were worth to SYD last year... [:w][:p]

Er, we've not been to SYD......yet!

The reason the prizes have been cut back is because there are now two first prizes, two second prizes etc because they have had two competitions going simultaneously.

And where exactly is it...two hours outside of London could mean anywhere! There's a Manor House nr Guildford...?

It's in Castle Combe near Chippenham

I doubt if there would be tickets. At the final at the Grove last year guests were not allowed and I had to make myself scarce for the day. I was only allowed in at the end because I had to collect Aer John

Thanks everybody for your good wishes for him. They're much appreciated [y]

John:

Go gcuire Dia an t-‡dh ort!:)

Please tell me that's not swearing - the phrase was given me by a Gaelic-speaking friend. (Well a current friend anyway depending on the translation.) Go for the double[y]

Oh, it's dead easy to understand. You take a stick with a funny knob at the end - some people actually take up to 14 of these sticks in a bag they carry on their back - and you go for a 2-3 mile walk whacking a little white ball from time to time and swearing occasionally. For some reason the 2-3 mile walk which takes any normal person about an hour to complete can take 4 and even 5 hours. Sometimes there are funny little cars to drive but for some reason it still takes the same length of time to go the 2-3 miles

At the end of the game everyone goes to the bar and starts telling everyone else just what happened on that 2-3 mile walk and that too takes 4 and even 5 hours........

....unless the raconteur gets a phone call and a voice screaming "Where the **** are you?" is heard whereupon that is the signal to pack up and go home.

Hope that helps
