Suprised more people haven't piped up on this subject!! I have not had the pleasure of any of the above unfortunately, I take it this must be the case for most here?? :D

Would have thought that someone would have had a tale to tell about a SRB inaugural somewhere or something similar???

I am going to try my best to be on one of the inaugural flights for Virgin America. So excited that their headquater is in SFO!

Are you talking the true inaugrals or the public inaugrals?

Sometimes the two are combined, and at other times they are not. Some FC members do get invited, for SYD, a small number were but the list was drawn up from people that had been FC Au for over 10 years. You will most often than not see that they are offered up as competiton prizes or rewards - for SYD, the Chairman's Award winner from that years Heroes awards was given two seats.

I know when Tobago and Grenda was launched, certain FVC custoemrs were asked if they wanted to go (paying customers though).

Often invited people are informed at short notice, and the schedules can be quite grueling. I may still have the schedule for that inaugral and it was a very busy/packed 3 days.

Thanks,
Richard

Has anyone been on an inaugural flight or any kind of special flight in the past.

I think I saw a numnber of people were plannign to go on the Dubai inaugural.

On the day the Vegas service was announced on 13 January 2000 I hand delivered a letter addressed to SRB at VS HQ asking (no, pleading) for two UC tickets on the inaugural, at full price. Back in those days I travelled to Vegas four or five times each year. No luck - all the movers and shakers were already booked on the 8 June flight. We were offered cattle but it just wouldn't have been the same.

I bet there was a hell of a party on board that day.

Cheers, Howard
