Is there any news about a possible 2nd daily flight to Hong Kong?

It's been mentioned a few times but I haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully sombody else will post with an update.

I don't think there has been any more news on the HKG route recently. However, this statement of intent on business revenue may force the issue with the 3 new A346's arriving later this year.

Personally I hope VS use the metal on oher routes, HKG has to be classed as a key business route though? [:?]

Hopefully i will find out more info on this come Thursday

Qantas have just started a daily service LHR-HKG, bringing the existing direct flights to 9 a day now (I think).

Ive not heard of anything confirmed though ONLY rhumers, from what I understand it was only being looked at, also not daily either 3 ? times per week

Also,if VS is serious about getting business rev up,then they need to start looking at the large business cities,ORD etc,I know there is a lot of other airlines flying in there,but it is a major business city.

yeah youve got 100% of the cabin Staff vote on ORD.... One of my faves... though Guess not so easy for USA Slots ?

I thought Virgin were looking at a second daily service to Hong Kong so they could increse the capacity on their Sydney flights. Wasn't there a press release regarding this some time ago!

I was talking to the Head of Marketing on Thursday and she said that they are in the final stages of applying for the 2nd Daily flight. She did say that they are hopeing that it will be up and running by Autumn butshe said that i was likely to be near the end of the year/early next year. She said that it would problary be on a 343 to start as the SYD loads aren't 100% full on the SYD sector. One of the main obsticals is the lack of aircraft at the momnent but that will improve come the end of the year as 4 (i think) aircraft are due.
