Hi all,

Me and my misses are going to Orlando in May 2007 for our Disney Wedding (yey!) and most likely will be going with Virgin Holidays. I know there is this thing where people say you can't claim miles from a Virgin Holidays package but I had a thought last night.

The only Virgin Flights I have been on have been as part of a VH. 1 to Orlando and 1 to LA/SFO. However, each time I have put in the claim missing miles afterwards and have gotten my miles back for it. Even got 10K credit last time after complaining about a problem on the flight out .

So they must credit for VH flights as well as I've done it in the past. I know I'm not loosing it (entirely possible) as I double checked the miles the morning.

So can anyone confirm if this is possible to claim miles for VH flights or have I just been lucky?

Ta!

You can earn miles for flights on virgin that are booked via Virgin Holidays - they tend to use V class for Economy flights (whihc earn 100% of miles flown and 2 TP each way), though recently the megadeals ahve started to use N class which earn 50% miles and 1TP each way. Premium Economy flights use H class which earn normal PE rates, and Z for Upper which earn normal UC rates.

Thanks,
Richard

Interesting statement below the upper class upgrade figures on this page of the VH site.

Please note: UK limo transfers and flying club miles are not included within upper class rates.

Am I right in saying this is a mistake or has something changed with VH Z-fares that I have missed???

I don't get what you mean, tp. Z fares have never included Limo Transfers, regardless of who they're booked with.

Hmmm interesting - its correct about the limo transfers, no Z-Fare tickets qualify for Limo's, but I am pretty certain that any UC ticket earns miles (apart from mpm fares), although Richard/one of the other fare experts should be able to clarify that.

Sorry should have made the point clearer....[:I] I was looking at the statement on miles not included rather than Limo transfers.

I thought all VH UC upgrades picked up full miles and TP's???

Ah. They do. There is no revenue Upper Class bucket that doesn't earn miles/TP's. You'll earn full mileage (200%) + gold bonus + tier points for a Z fare.

We will put that down as a mistake on the VH site then.... Cheers Paul. :)
